Daimaruya Ryokan

As a family of four we shared one room with four tatami mattresses and quilts. The room had a sink, TV and plenty of cupboard space for ski gear. Rooms are basic but functional and despite the basic matresses it was actually pretty comfortable. Showers were in the Onsen downstairs or you could use the Onsen in the sister hotel just opposite the road which was bigger and more comfortable - which we did everyday. Shared toilets on each floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (included) was very basic and known to be when we booked and was just toast and coffee - it wouldnt take much just to upgrade it slightly to include some fruit/yoghurt/cereals etc. Location was great - a short 5 min walk to nearest ski lift which drops you right by main ski lifts, restos and ski hire. We left our skis and gear at the hire shop on the mountain every day so we didnt have to cart it down with us which made everything easy. Its also a 5 min walk to the main strip and restaurants for the evening. This is a covenient, functional, no-frills hotel in a good location.
