We stayed for 5 nights in early January 2014 with another family - group of 10. 2 of the rooms had ensuite, all rooms with tatami mats Breakfast was a real experience with traditional food. They did try to provide us with some western, boiled eggs and toast. The owners were very helpful and super friendly. Short walk up the hill to the Yu Road walkway, literally right in town giving us a selection of restaurants each evening for dinner. They had their own onsen with a public onsen next door and foot onsen just outside our door. Wandering around the village was also a highlight for me with markets selling their wares, some with vegetables and eggs cooked in the village onsen. Really great experience and excellent location for skiing and entertainment. Loved the ski fields. We hired and stored our equipment near the Hikage Gondola which allowed us to walk to the ski fields in comfy shoes - a real bonus for us as skiers.
