Very good place. Staff very friendly.
If you finding ryokan for relaxing in Kurokawa. Oyado kurokawa is the best choice. Beautiful ryokan . Very good service . Foods are delicious . The rooms are nice and clean .

We visited the restaurant of Oyado Kurokawa in a rainy day.  The location was central at this charming spa town. We arrived at about 11:40am (the restaurant opens at noon) but the staff still welcomed us.  We had a small room that gave a good view of a street.  The setting was in a traditional Japanese style.  It was very clean.  It appeared that the setting also served hot bath and ryokan accommodation as well, but we had not used them.  The restaurant served local specialty food at a very reasonable price.  At least one of the staff commanded basic English and there were photos of major food sets in the menu.  We liked most of the local dishes.  The staff even offered us an umbrella when we left.  As I had to take care of my two toddler kids, when leaving, I forgot to bring my waist bag (that contained our passports and my wallet and mobile phone).  I realized the missing of the bag an hour later and I rushed back to the restaurant (it took another hour of driving), though I was not very sure about where I had lost it  at that time.  Thank God that the staff had found the bag inside the room and returned it to me.  I thanked them repeatedly and they bowed to me.  Nothing was lost.

Great restaurant and services!

The £157 that I paid for one night (no meals) is the most that I've ever paid for a room (including for 3 & 4 star hotels in Tokyo, Paris, New York, London etc) so was expecting top quality.  Hugely disappointed.  Have had far better ryokan experiences for well under half this price. The bedroom is just motel standard: instead of tatami mats it's just stained carpet tiles; cluttered tired furniture and no shower.  No even complementary coffee or mineral water. View of the carpark.
Onsen similarly disappointing. Had far better in capsule hotels.  Five small dimly lit baths downstairs with no variation in temperature. No outside baths and no sauna. One worn thin towel provided.  
Overall not worth even a third of the price. Realise there is a weekend price premium in spa towns but this was by far the biggest rip off I sustained in three weeks in Japan. Outrageously overpriced.

Extremely poor value for cost

Visited the restaurant for lunch but not staying in Ryokan 
Ordered the horse meat lunch set and  Dago Jiru ( Dumpling soup ) which is very local and popular 
Among the very few restaurants in Kurokawa Onsen area this would be one of the few best 
Service is good and friendly
