Hiroshima Intelligent Hotel Stadium Mae

Hiroshima. It's hard to describe in words the emotions that this city can manifest in people. It's certainly a great array of emotions, from highs to lows. This hotel is most certainly a high. The best part of this hotel was that I didn't know I was going to be staying in a retro 80's themed, come prolific hoarders den, come local baseball themed hotel. I'd say I was filled with equal parts confusion, shock and awe as I entered the main lobby/reception area, to see such wonders as: Lion statues, tacky fake cats, and my personal favourite - Clown dolls. The hotel at this point had already won over my heart. That was until I stepped foot into my room. I think the term 'baseball themed' isn't doing this room justice. It was quite overwhelming, to the point that I was so awestruck that I forgot to take pictures. This hotel is very close to Hiroshima station, only around a 8-10 minute walk. It's extremely central and convenient ( as are so many things in japan ) to attractions such as Hiroshima tower, and trams to the peace museum, and the a-bomb dome. Do yourself a favour, and book yourself into the superbly named Hiroshima Intelligent Hotel. If the name alone isn't enough to win you over, the lobby and rooms will. This place is more like 6 stars
