Teishaba Guesthouse & Cafe – Hostel

We stayed in a 4 futon (quad) room for our family of 2 adults and a 10 & 13 y.o. We stayed here because of the easy access to Fuji Q Highland which it was perfect for. We could see the park from our room, also AMAZING views of Mt Fuji. The hosts were so lovely, friendly and accommodating. They spoke enough English to get by which was very helpful. They made a “welcome (fruit) cake” which was served in the dining area. Very lovely gesture. Hot meals and breakfast were available through the kitchen but we had bought our own food. I was surprised (and happy!) to find they provided a pay laundromat. For a few hundred yen I could do a load of washing and dry it, unexpected but a welcome bonus! There was a kitchen area with microwave, fridge, jug etc. Communal bath as is custom in such accommodation, but we all had them to ourselves every time. No TV in the room but the wifi was adequate to keep everyone happy. The only thing we could say is the walls are very thin. We had to ask the people in the next room to keep the noise down but these were non-Japanese who probably didn’t understand the culture. For the price and location, you can’t beat Teishaba.
