Our stay at Hinodeya was a great experience. The ryokan is conveniently located near the Jogasaki Coast, and our host kindly gave us a shuttle ride to the start of the trail while we were waiting on our room to be ready (we arrived early). The inn is within walking distance to the train station, but the host also offers shuttle rides to and from the station if you prefer. The inn itself gives a unique cultural experience with onsens that you can reserve, which is great if you want to experience an onsen but don’t want to bathe in public. The rooms are large with comfortable mattresses on tatami mats. The breakfast is a wonderful experience in itself in the traditional Japanese style. My family of four (two adults and two teenagers) couldn’t have been happier. The host and staff were so welcoming! I definitely recommend Hinodeya if you’re wanting to experience Japan outside of the major cities!
