This place was very nice, in a great location across from the station. It’s a bit dated but well kept up, so there are features that are now quaint like the clock radio in the headboard of the bed. The room was nice and room with a huge tub. Breakfast was ok but not special.

Pretty basic but hard to beat The convenience of being right next to the bus and train stations And super walkable to the castle and all downtown sights.

Staff very friendly and more than expected facilities

Hotel Morschein was a lovely place to stay! The staff were very warm and friendly; the room cozy and just the right size. The view was pleasant, and I was within walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go.

It’s cozy hotel but very convenient. staff were very freindly.

Priced well. Curtious staff and clean accommodations. Easy walk from station and other dining, bars, and tourist sites. Matsumoto Castle was only 12 min walk but you go through all the great shops along the way so its wonderful.

Very close to Matsumoto station, and a very reasonable walk to Matsumoto Castle, the art museum, and shopping and good restaurants.  The hotel and rooms are pretty basic, but the room was clean and comfortable.  It was a bit of a tight squeeze for 3 (two adults and one child) due to the extra cot, but it made a good base for sightseeing.  The staff was very friendly and helpful

Fantastic place.  Very happy friendly staff.

Staff were friendly. We were able to leave our luggage as we arrived early morning and started to explore. By the time we got back, we were already check in and luggage was in the room. The room is cleaned and has most of anmenties I needed. It will definitely my go to place in Matsumoto

My parents really enjoyed their stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect. Great location, spacious room, comfortable beds, last but not least buffet breakfast was beyond expectation.

Lovely staff, room was very clean, beds were comfortable. The room itself was a little small and we had to be fairly strategic with our luggage so that we were not feeling to crowded/cluttered. The hotel is very near the statin, so good access to convenience stores and places to eat. The general area is not very aesthetic, but it is just a short walk to more visually pleasing parts of the city.

The staff were friendly and helpful, very happy with the service. The rooms were of a very good size and clean. The hotel was perhaps a little older but it was all still very comfortable. We had an excellent night's rest, very needed after our journey so far! The hotel offers coin washer and dryer facilities, a microwave, and ice machine.

Cosy and comfortable!

We had stayed for 2 nights in here and had a good time here.The hotel is situated at a convenient location near the train station. The hotel staff at the front desk were all very helpful - I have left something in my previous hotels (but I was not sure which one), they helped all the way by calling BOTH of my hotels and found my lost item. And they helped asked the hotel to mail to me when I returned to Tokyo.Special thanks go to the 2 female staff who made so many calls for me :)Recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Matsumoto!

Nice Little Hotel with Very Good Service

We stayed here 1 night after doing the Tateyama-Kurobe alpine route.

The hotel is well located a short 3 minute walk from train and bus station.

There are Lawson's and 7/11s nearby as well as a multitude of dining and shopping options.  There is a new place just opened which I can't remember the name of which has the Matsumoto brewery upstairs and you can enjoy a beer and food on the balcony - very civilised.

It's an easy 15-20 minute walk to Matsumoto Castle which is very enjoyable.  Great photo ops.

Hotel staff were nice and helpful.

Wifi worked well (always a plus when you are booking/researching on the go).

Room was quiet and comfortable on the top floor.

I believe there are bikes available which would be great but unfortunately we were only there the one night.

Good quality well located 3 star hotel

This hotel has a great location. It's a 3 min walk from the station (when you exit the station, you'll see a Lawson shop... take the road on the left of that shop then take the first right and the hotel is on the left hand side - do not take the big road opposite like my family and I did, because we totally got lost and took us half an hour or so to eventually find it). The hotel staff speak basic English, but they are so friendly and helpful ... they even upgraded our room without extra cost (awesome)!
The Matsumoto castle is about a 15 min walk from this hotel, and there are many shops and eatery nearby also. The hotel also offers free WiFi (always a bonus) which you have to plug in yourself... they also kept our luggage for the day when we checked out.

A great budget hotel

This is not a new hotel, you can tell from the overall condition of the furniture, carpet, fittings etc. But still, if you looking for a good budget place to stay for a night or 2, this maybe a good choice. Only 3-5 mins away from the train station, plenty of eateries around the area, walking distant to Matsumoto castle. 
Room wise,we booked a triple room which is spacious enough for us to open up all our luggage on the floor. 
The staff speaks basic English, we did quite a bit of shopping and the staff helpfully gave us strings, scissors and tapes so that we can tied the extra boxes. They even let us extend our check out time to 12pm, much appreciated.
