Our intial guesthouse cancelled on us as we were leaving for Norikura Kogen so we scrambled to find another place. We found this pension on AirBnB (they're not listed on booking.com) and was accepted within a few hours. The rooms were comfortable and covered the basics. The owners were very kind and accomodated us at late notice for dinner at their resturant. They also made us Onigiri for breakfast the next morning as we were leaving early for a hike. The dinner was a course meal with starters, 2 main dishes (fish and duck) and dessert - all home made. They also offer breakfast too. The best part of the stay was their onsen. There are 2 onsen rooms that has indoor and outdoor, and you can use privately (you take the tag and hang it on the door) however if someone is already in there you'll have to wait. The onsens were very relaxing especially after a long hike. Highly recommend staying here and to eat dinner/breakfast at their resturant as there are very limited food options in Norikura Kogen. Plus you get to enjoy a private onsen!
