Residence Mimi

(The English is below…) Ho passato al Residence Mimì i 15 giorni delle mie vacanze d’agosto con la famiglia. Un’esperienza notevole anche grazie alla professionalità, la cortesia e la disponibilità del giovane manager Marco, che mi ha aiutato a scoprire i numerosi piccoli grandi segreti dell’isola di Vulcano, oltre a trovare numerose gite in barca, il nolo dell’auto e le escursioni a prezzi davvero scontati. Il residence è bellissimo, nuovo, curato in ogni dettaglio. Ci sono numerose ville (grandi!) per famiglie e diversi appartamentini per coppie e single. Noi siamo stati in una villa. Ogni villa ha un grandissimo patio, con divani e tavolini in vimini dappertutto. C’è una bellissima piscina, giardini pieni di fiori profumati (di notte è un’esperienza dello spirito: le numerose piante di “Bella di Notte” del giardino spargono un profumo meraviglioso che aggiunge una nota romantica all'atmosfera del posto). La cosa notevole è che ci si sente “a casa”, nel senso che spesso siamo abituati ad accontentarci della minore qualità della sistemazione – rispetto a casa nostra – perché si è “in vacanza”. Qui l’esperienza è diversa. Chi ama la propria casa e la cura con passione troverà altrettanto amore e passione per la cura dei dettagli in questo residence. Ma attenzione: questa non è la regola a Vulcano. Girando per l’isola ho visto molte proprietà mal tenute o forse abbandonate. Il panorama che si gode dal residence è fantastico perchè grazie alla sua fortunata orientazione, il cratere del vulcano non impedisce la vista delle altre isole Eolie. La vista di questo resort è seconda solo a pochi altri a Vulcano, ed al vicino Capo Grillo. Ma quel sito è una cosa a parte: ci saranno solo tre o quattro posti al mondo in cui si può godere un panorama simile a quello della cima di Capo Grillo e credetemi, avendo viaggiato parecchio, so quel che dico. Credo che scriverò una recensione su Capo Grillo perché il posto merita davvero una visita. Suggerisco vivamente questo residence a coloro i quali amano passare le vacanze riposando in una natura meravigliosa, godendosi la fresca brezza delle isole, all'ombra di un magnifico portico, sorseggiando una bibita fresca in compagnia di un buon libro dal quale, di tanto in tanto, alzare lo sguardo su uno tra i panorami più belli delle isole del Mediterraneo. Last august I went to the Residence Mimì to spend my 15 days holiday. It was a great experience indeed. Everything was perfect, thanks to the professionalism, the courtesy and the availability of the young manager (mr. Marco) who helped us to know all about the great “small” secrets of island and to find attractions, boat tours and car rental at some really discounted price. The residence is great, very new indeed. It has many villas and many apartments for couples and singles. We stayed in a villa. There are beautiful wickerwork sofas and tables everywhere; there is a beautiful swimming pool; there is a fully equipped kids place; the gardens have a lot of fragrant plants: the night here is quite an experience because of the many "Four o’clock Flowers" or “Bella di Notte” (Mirabilis jalapa) spread around the property that literally cherish your romantic soul with their perfume! What is really noticeable is that I’d never had the feeling to live in a “holiday” accommodation, where often you accept to have a lower quality of your living environments just because you are not at your home. By the opposite I felt the love and care of the property of the family who owns it. This is not the rule in Vulcano, where there are many properties in not-so-good conditions, when not truly abandoned. The landscape that you enjoy from the residence is incredible, because it is north oriented and, thanks to a lucky position, the Vulcan crater doesn’t affect the view of the other Aeolian Islands. The panorama is amazing – one of the best resort views of the island. The property is also close to cape Capo Grillo. Well, I think that there are only three or four places like Capo Grillo in the world, and I know what I say, really. Soon I will write a review about Capo Grillo with a large picture. I strongly suggest this residence to those like me love to relax in the silence of a splendid nature, with a good book, a fresh drink under a breezy porch enjoying the marvel of one of the most beautiful and enchanting islands in the Mediterranean sea.
