Nice small hotel in heart of Venice. Hotel is dog friendly. My smal dog, Italian Greyhound, 5 kgs weight, was enjoying same as me. Internet is free, with descent speed, about 50 mbps. Mine room was with toilet and shower. As I have tablet I did not attempt to switch tv. There are also cheaper rooms with common toilets and shower. As Hotel Iris does not serve breakfast and any food visit two adjacent restaurants and bars, few steps away. If you are on tight budget few steps from Hotel is small grocery store, bring food and drinks in your room, nobody from hotel staff will object. There is no refergirator in rooms. From Piazzale Roma where is main bus and water boat station and train station you can walk 11 minutes to Hotel Iris or take 30 minutes trip with water boat (many stops, this is reason for 30 minutes trip). One way boat cost 7.5 € but I purchased unlimited boat and bus trips for 40 € during my 3 days stay in Venice, via ATV web page. Buying paper ticket YOU MUST VALIDATE it before entering boat, if not you pay 60 € fine, despite buying ticket. There are many ticket controllers. So read instructions on boat entrance platform. From water bus station San Toma is 1 minute walk to Hotel Iris, situated in one of many Venice canal branches. To St Mark Square is 15 minutes walk. Hotel staff are friendly. In addition to hotel fare you need to pay 2.5 € city tax IN CASH per day. It is nice small hotel, reasonable clean, with friendly staff IN IDEAL LOCATION IN VENICE. Excellent value for money!

Guests staying overnight are also exempt from this fee and must pay the city tax at the accommodation facilities.
