The journey to here is along twisty hilly roads and finally down a single lane track. You are very much off the beaten track on the edge of the very old and picturesque village of MonteCastelli Pisano. If you are looking for a busy place to stay then this is not for you, but if you are looking for a very private peaceful villa to stay in then this is very much the place to stay ! The villa has everything you need, including a pool and out door hot tub ! the hot tub is under a roofed area, so even as we found when it rained one evening it can still be enjoyed with a glass or two of prosecco :-) There is a covered eating area outside with views across the Tuscan hills as well. The owners Gina and Franco were amazing, from the moment we arrived and the welcome they gave us and the food gifts they gave us to get us started. Also they come each morning to tidy the outside areas and pool. They are very discreet and left us little food gifts from eggs from their own hens to a bottle of wine. All very sweet and a lovely surprise to the open the front door to find. The area is lovely, but do not expect many amenities, closest shop was 15 minute drive away, but very well stocked and a good enough size to have its own deli and butchers in. But there is a good restaurant in the village a short walk away, where the locals are very friendly ! Sienna is within an hours drive and Florence about 1 and half hours away and about the same for Pisa; so your a little out of the way, but we enjoyed that as we were able to get away from the big crowds and recharge the batteries and travel when we wanted to.
