Lemon Tree

I stayed at the Lemon Tree B&B in Mondello for two nights at the end of May. I previously stayed there three years ago, as well, for a longer stay. The B&B is owned and operated by a very hardworking, conscientious, helpful young man who will eagerly go out of his way to accommodate and please his guests. Denny picked me up in Mondello after I was dropped off by a bus I took from the Palermo Central train station. Later that same evening Denny drove to airport to pick up another guest who arrived on a late flight. Reading through some of the other reviews will provide a good sampling of the many things Denny has done to accommodate and please his guests. The B&B, although located in a bit of an out of the way but safe location, is a nicely furnished and decorated, very clean, well maintained, spacious, solidly built home. The linens and towels are freshly washed and ironed every day and the beds are very comfortable. The shared bathrooms are spotless and big with functioning, up-to-date fixtures and roomy showers with good water pressure and ample hot water. There’s a nice garden, first-floor porch, and a rooftop terrace with a view of a nearby mountain if you wish to seek out a quiet place to sit and relax. Denny will gladly fix you up with a bicycle if you wish to peddle the short distance to the beach or into the center of Mondello. I have done both. Denny warmly welcomes each of his guests with some often homemade cakes and biscuits (Denny is a trained pastry chef) and limoncello. I appreciated the complimentary bottle of limoncello when I checked out. A tasty breakfast of pastries, small pizzas, and fresh coffee or tea is served in the dining room and can also be eaten at a table outside on the porch. WiFi is provided and works well. One quiet evening Denny took me into Mondello for some of the best gelato I had ever had in Italy. The clean and comfortable accommodations and definitely the friendly, personalized attention will make a stay at the Lemon Tree B&B in Mondello a memorable and pleasing one. I am looking forward to returning there soon.
