123 reviewsThe room we had gave us that old charm feeling. Furniture all wood, painted pattern on ceiling. Everything is clean and works. Fantastic view from balcony. Slept with door open and enjoyed the thunderstorm and rain. Loved the different levels of the corridors and decorations and painted detail all around. The dining room is fabulous and the food - dinner and breakfast - absolutely off the chart. Cannot give a high enough recommendation for what we ate. My wife is a vegan and she could eat from the menu! I had the menu and this is a bargain. The breakfast buffet is gorgeous. Impossible to eat and drink of everything. So please look past the minors: bed a bit creaky, bathroom tiny and wifi only in common room and did not get a connection. We did get vouchers for free access to museums but could not stay to use these. Reception spoke English but other staff not. We managed though as the staff went our of their way to ensure that the apfelstrudel did not have almonds in them. I recommend this venue but do not expect a modern environment. Rather a bit 'warn' because so many people enjoy this place. And if it is of any interest to you: there is a beautiful Gospel of Luke in the drawer.
