Agriturismo Podere Costarella

We've just returned from a fantastic week in this stunning location with my extended family to celebrate my 50th birthday. The 4 apartments were well equipped with everything we needed including 2 modern bathrooms per apartment. The hosts were very accommodating in providing extra beds as required. We would definitely recommend this property for a large party. The pool was stunning with views over the hills but due to some odd local by law swim times are restricted to 9am - 12.30pm then 2.30pm to 7pm. I think the younger members of our group sneaked a night swim though! The other thing to note are the biting flies that are by the pool. Repellent is essential and although they were very annoying it didn't stop us all enjoying sunbathing and swimming. There are cone shaped fly catchers close by which must keep the numbers down a bit. My husband had prearranged with the hosts to provide a birthday meal for me in their on site restaurant which at 30euros a head was well worth every penny. The food was absolutely delicious and they catered for the vegetarians and vegans in our party. Everybody enjoyed it. It was finished off with a beautiful Mille feille birthday cake. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property for a large group of family/friends and definitely suggest taking advantage of the cooking of our hosts. The few criticisms we have which would be useful to note beforehand are: There are no ovens in any apartment - just microwave and hob. We bought pizzas But had to fry them! A little pack of local info would have been useful eg supermarket, bins, recycling, places of interest. The town of Radicondoli has a very small Coop and other shop but we had to go some way to a larger supermarket. Had we known, we would have taken lots of insect repellent! These small issues did not in any way stop us from having a fantastic stay with treasured memories of my 50th birthday week. Thank you.
