One night alone I fell in love with Mondello, the hostel, and the owner. Mondello and beautiful, the structure is modern, clean and cozy, the owner is a fantastic person. With her sympathy she really enchanted us and made our stay really special.

It will always be in my heart

We found each other very well, clean, orderly, hospitable, beautiful garden, friendly owner and genuine breakfasts, we met foreign boys with open minds and a smile on their faces, this is where a traveler can stay overnight... travelers, nor tourists!

Where a Traveler Accommodates

Mondello Home Hostel has the best hostel atmosphere that I have experienced yet. What I liked most about the hostel was the homey environment. Valentina, the hostel owner, gets to know all of her guests, clearly has a passion for travel and meeting new people and is overall an amazing person! Likewise, she cooks incredible breakfasts every morning (which you do not have to pay extra for like in many hostels in Europe).

The rooms themselves are very clean and comfortable and guests have all the facilities/services they need like laundry, wifi, locks, etc. Best of all, Valentina helps with just about any question. Many guests discussed their plans with the day with Valentina to get her recommendations as well.

Overall, Mondello was my favorite place I traveled to throughout a one month trip traveling around Europe. Besides the amazingly beautiful beach, my experience would have been nowhere near as great as it was without this incredible hostel. I even extended my stay because I did not want to leave. The smaller size of the hostel makes it a very cozy place to stay and get to know other travelers.

The Best Hostel I Have Ever Stayed At

Nice hostel, small, well-ordered and clean, the possibility of having a locked closet, two rooms with six beds per room, castle beds, the guys who run it are available and friendly, I would recommend.

3 days of sea relaxation

My daughter and I were there last week. The owner is really nice and hospitable, always ready to solve any unexpected situation. Clean and welcoming environment. The breakfast is simple but good and abundant. The customers are almost all foreign children who have the opportunity to experience other cultures and customs, so it can be considered a small multi-ethnic center. I recommend it to all the kids who want to discover the wonders of Mondello.

I'm back to my youth!!!

My brother and I booked this hostel on a whim. We heard a good recommendation from a fellow traveller and as we had nowhere to stay that night we thought we might as well book it. We ended up staying in the hostel for 2 nights and returned for another 3 nights over the weekend. 

Not only are the facilities great but there is a fully furnished kitchen. A nice common area outside equipped with couches and even a barbecue. The showers are more than perfect and the beds are very comfy.

The owner Valentina and Jake the assistant manager go above and beyond to please every guest. Every morning Valentina will prepare a huge and delicious spread of food for breakfast that caters to everyones tastes. There is always leftovers so no one misses out.

Everymorning Valentina always chatted with us asking us what we where doing that day, giving us directions or suggesting better destinations. Anything you ask her she will have or get an answer to you promptly.

Jake is very nice and friendly. He works very hard to please every guest and also keeps the hostel very clean.Jake even came with us out to dinner in Palermo and and gave us an enjoyable tour. We consider both Jake and Valentina very good friends now.

The only annoying thing is the hostel does not have running drinkable water. But Valentina does sell 1L bottles of water at the hostel.

The Mondello Home Hostel is  appropriately named as it is more of a home away from home than a hostel. It is hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed in. I will surely return not for the location but solely for the hostel. 

More than just a hostel.

We booked there the night before leaving for Sicily without knowing much about it, turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip! Although a bit far from the city center of Palerma, it's still easily accesible by bus and really close to the beach. But really what we liked the most about the place was the staff, Valentina and Barbara did so much for us, cooking a fresh cake for each breakfast, offering to pick people up at the airport, driving us to the city and the list goes on and on. We told Valentina (the owner) we planned on renting a car and traveling around the city and she called every car renting company in Palerma to find the best price for us and made us a full itinerary of amazing stuff to see, our trip would never have been the same without her and her hostel.

Besides from that, the place is amazingly clean and friendly, the breakfast was delicious, for the price we got wayyyyyyy more than we asked for. 10/10 would totally recommend.

Fell in love with the place!

I've rented 2 volts x a total of 8g. clean, incredible breakfast with cake even made by the Valentine owner who is always giving advice.

The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is complete but Valentina is a great support for all those staying in their hostel when it comes to knowing where to go and how to go!!! 100% recommended!!! It is close to the best beach in Mondello and is a very safe area and full of inhabitants more than friendly, if you are planning to stay in Sicily and seek tranquility near Palermo este is the hostel indicated!

This is wonderful!!!

I stayed there only for a couple of nights and I wish I had stayed there for all the four nights I was in Palermo! The hostel is close to Mondello Beach, only a few minutes walk. It can be a little tricky to find if you don't have a map but in my opinion that's what makes the hostel safer, as It's located in a really nice and quiet neighbourhood. My friend and I stayed in the bigger room and it was very very clean and had air conditioning (which we couldn't love more as it was summer and 36 degrees outside). Every morning Valentina (the hostess) prepares a fantastic breakfast for her guests and she is always happy to help everyone with anything they need. The first night we were there she took all the guests to this bar by the beach and we all had a great time having drinks, playing ball and chatting. Valentina will most probably be the best hostess anyone can find and she had a very big part in the great time we had in Mondello. In the end she took me and my friend to the airport with the shuttle service she provides, which was a lot better than if we had taken a taxi or the bus.
