Nestled in Southern Tuscany is this gem of a spot, Tenuta Valle Buia. Roberta and Alec plus their dogs were wonderful hosts. We were surrounded by their olive trees and hills. It is secluded and so quiet. It is the type of place where you can easily spend a week. Roberta gave us ideas for where to eat as well as beaches. The breeze, the quiet.....the views  it was the best experience to spend our last days in Tuscany after a month of being in Italy. 

Tenuta Valle Buia is magic. I’ve seen many beautiful places in my life, but this one has its own character. We are in the Natural park of Maremma 3Km away from Talamone with an outstanding view of the sea and the port. The Villa is beautiful and the guesthouse where we were staying very comfortable and peaceful. 

If peace is what you’re looking for this is the best spot in South Tuscany to relax and enjoy the sea. Roberta, the landlord is very cool, super accommodating and a source of information if you like to explore the neighboring areas.

Personally this is a place that I want to go back at least once per year. 


Beautiful Valle Buia in Maremma National Park is a hidden gem! A comfortable drive from either Rome or Pisa airports (no hair-raising turns or high-risk driving involved) Valle Buia is the most perfect get-away at any season. With stunning views of olive groves, Talamone harbour, lovely gardens and enchanting house you immediately fall under the spell of Valle Buia!  Roberta completes the scene with her warm Tuscan welcome; not a detail has been over-looked from the bottle of estate pressed olive oil and pots of honey from her hives to the lovely bed linen and super comfortable beds and pillows!  Activities abound but if like me you prefer peace then nothing beats a bottle of the local wine, some fresh pasta from the local village, bread and Roberta's delicious olive oil while  sitting on the terrace of your cottage enjoying the beautiful views. I have been here in the autumn for the olive picking and again this year in early summer and can attest that each season has its own particular pleasures but the climate is always the same.perfect! I cannot recommend Valle Buia enough and Roberta is the perfect hostess who will happily share her local knowledge and ensure that you have a memorable holiday. When you leave Valle Buia, having already booked your return visit, you are grateful that a place of such peace and beauty still exists.

My husband and I visited Valle Buia this April and could not have been more charmed.  The location is absolutely breathtaking anyway you look!  The sea, the mountains, the olive trees and the beautiful house!  We stayed in a small house with two bedrooms and two baths as we were two couples.  It was extremely comfortable and well appointed.  There was also a sitting area with TV and kitchenette. We took long walks and went down around the back to the beach.  Roberta the owner spent some time with us telling us about her adventures buying and renovating the house.  It is really spectacular!   Next time we come, we will surely stay longer!

Wonderful house surrounded by beautiful scenery. Roberta, the host, is very welcoming and helpful. Comfortable beds and modern amenities, with lots of activities to do nearby. I really recommend this hidden gem a few minutes drive from the water.

This is my fourth stay at charming Vallebuia in the Maremma national park over several years. Beautiful authentic Tuscan agriturismo a short drive from sandy beaches and tranquil Talamone. The sun always seems to be shining here under owner Roberta's attentive and friendly watch. The local cinghiale (wild boar) is a must. Perfect for families and couples looking for a restorative and relaxing holiday.
