Hotel Villa al Mare

My daughter and I recently stayed 5 nights at Villa Al Mare. The sisters and mother made us feel very welcome. Our room was clean, spacious and bright with French doors to a balcony with the most beautiful view of the sea. The hotel is easily reached by bus from Ischia Porto. I can't remember how long it took to walk to the beach ... because I was only paying attention to the spectacular beauty all around. It's on a cliff so walking is always going to be either down or up! There's a bit of a shortcut involving stairs at one end of the beach. I enjoyed the breakfast (bread, cheese, fruit, coffee) served on a terrace and the homemade jam was delicious. (my daughter has severe food allergies and so did not eat anything at hotel). The pool is great and on the terrace that surrounds it you can find both sun and shade as well as lots of beach chairs. This is not a chain type hotel but rather an authentic Italian family run one - and as such it is delightful.
