Lungomare Relax Residence Hotel

This was our second visit to the Lungomare Relax and we would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone hoping for an easy, relaxed, family-friendly beach holiday. The hotel/apartment is spotlessly clean and immaculate and the staff are warm and hugely hospitable. This is a newish hotel and one of the few four star options with a pool in the local area. Its location is right on the beach, in a spot also kept beautifully by the section bagnini - there's a play area for the kids, a coffee machine, clean showers, and you can hire a couple of beds and a parasol for your stay for around ten Euros a day. The sea is warm and clear and perfect for paddling, swimming and wave-jumping. The swimming pool, again, is immaculate and a good size, with a separate paddling pool and jacuzzi area, and a mini 'waterfall'. There's plenty of space if you want to have a proper swim or for kids to play on inflatables or just bobble about in the water. It's an easy short stroll to the centre, where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and evening entertainment. The local Conad supermarket is also about 10 minutes away by foot. The hotel room is spacious and comfortable - we took a two-bedroom, one bathroom room, which was plenty for four of us. The kitchen is well equipped with a good sized fridge/freezer, hob, a microwave and kettle, and there are lovely long balconies overlooking either the largely pedestrianised street out front - ideal for people watching - or the sea. It would be nice to see more made of the on-site cafe and restaurant - we preferred to eat out or get our morning coffees and cornetti from one of the beachside kiosks - but that's a minor quibble and only because the hotel could probably do really well from a better snack bar offering and some outside seating by day overlooking the sea. This is a really lovely, friendly, high quality place to stay - if you're looking for an easy, chilled, beachside break geared up for families this is definitely it.
