BB Porta Grande

I stayed at Porta Grande with my parents and my 2 kids in June 2017. This incredibly quaint B&B offers 3 spacious rooms. When we stayed we had 2 of the rooms. There is a beautiful main area and an eat-in kitchen with a full size fridge - there is no breakfast here but it was not a problem as we went to a local grocery and filled our fridge with breakfast foods and snacks. There is also a common balcony with a table and a hanging clothes rack which came in handy as I hand washed some stuff and needed a place for it to dry. The rooms are very large with frescoed ceilings and modern bathrooms. My room had a large balcony that faced onto the main street with a view of the castle and partial view of the park. The air conditioning was great as the weather in Mesagne was very hot in June. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were cleaned daily. The room my parents stayed in was also large and they had a very large bathroom with a bathtub (which was nice with the kids). The location of this B&B is great for anyone who wants to be close to the centro storico of Mesagne. It is a 1 minute walk to the Castle and centro storico and a 3 minute walk to the Villa which the is the local park - great for kids with a huge playground. There is street parking right in front of the B&B. It is free some of the day and a few Euros a day otherwise to park. We never had trouble finding parking no matter what time we returned back. The owners are very, very nice and were always available with any questions we had. The only downside is there is a steep flight of steps to get to the rooms - you are unable to climb stairs this place is not for you. There is a good chance I will be back in Mesagne to visit my Sister-in-Law so I will definitely stay here again in the future.
