B&B La Cascina

I stayed here for 4 nights in August with my daughters aged 12 and 9. Whilst it is possible to survive without a car here I would hire one for a return visit. We travelled to the B&B from Bergamo train station, it took about 35minutes and cost 65€. It is more amazing than what you see in the photos! Location is tranquil and beautiful, the perfect place to relax. I never tired of staring out at the view, so much to see. The property itself is fantastic. We stayed in a triple room on the ground floor. It was a good size, very clean and comfortable. The pool is fantastic, especially in the heat and there's plenty of seating outside, including loungers. Be prepared for mosquitoes, there is lots! The owner Elida is such a lovely lady! She is always on hand, whilst her English is limited she is patient and you can work out what you are both trying to say. Rosanna comes to help Elida in the mornings and she speaks English very well. Breakfast consisted of cheeses, meats, biscuits, yogurts, croissants, breads, fruit and freshly made home cooked cakes. The closest restaurant is a 20 minutes walk down a steep winding road and of the 4 nights I stayed it was only open 1 of those night. There is a supermarket a further 15 minute walk from the restaurant. It is VERY steep, a moderate level of fitness is essential, you will struggle otherwise. Overall I love this place, would highly recommend if you are looking to hide from the rest of the world whilst still being a 15minute drive from it.
