La Locanda Della Campanara

We were desperately looking for a sleeping accommodation during our trip home from Riccione while Emilia Romagna was suffering under the devastating cyclone during May 15 to 17. We were not able to proceed further than Galeata on our way to Florence on our only viable escape route and thanks to a man we met on the street were pointed to the Locanda della Campanara. We could not have been luckier! The way we were welcomed late at night could not have been warmer after hours of lurking around. Roberto's and Alessandra's place is situated in an old building very tastefully restored and decorated. There is also a little outdoor pool in the garden and the food served in the adjacent Trattoria is outstanding. We were almost sorry when we finally could leave after we received confirmation that the only road to Florence was open again, but did so after an incredible experience at the Locanda and with the intention to come back maybe later during the year. A bit thanks to the hosts Roberto, his sister and Alessandra!
