Garni Mitterstieler was a great place to be in the Dolomites in Italy! I stayed there for four nights at the end of September '09. It is located in a nice quiet village, about 12 Km from Bolzano. The views there are amazingly beautiful, typical of the dolomites area. Helmut, the owner, is a charming and kind host, who happily helps his guests in advice and recommendations on things to do and places to see. He also has a table filled with relevant brochures and touristic information, and he makes an effort (which not all Italians do...) to communicate also in English. The room I got was very clean, had a comfortable bathroom, and a balcony. A nice breakfast was also included, and a free parking space. Bottom line: great value for money and an enjoyable hospitable stay! I hope to visit there again :-)
