Ansitz Romani

Wow! A great, warm atmospheric, stylish accommodation in a fantastic location in Italy. Nicely decorated apartment, proper bathroom with a very nice shower and a good bed. Although the kitchen is a small kitchenette, it was good enough to prepare simple dishes. All kitchen utensils you'd need were available. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we received the 'Wine Pass plus museumobil' card, which provides free public transport (including cable cars!), free entrances to musea (including the Otzi museum in Bolzano!) and discounts one wine-activities. A great way to get to know the region. The 'Ansitz', residence, holds a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast they serve in their restaurant is great; fresh breads, biological yoghurts, good cheeses, and lots of fruit. Beside the residence with 10 apartments they rent out, they have a great restaurant called 'Taberno Romani'. We had a delicious 3-course dinner prepared with fresh, regional products, accompanied by good local wines. The Ansits is close to the center of the village 'Tramin' (Termeno) which is on the strada del vino, and known for its 'Gewurtztraminer'-wine. It's a small village, however you can get all you need: a good cup of coffee, a lunch, and your daily groceries. Moreover, other slightly larger villages such as Kaltern (caldaro) and Neumarkt are just around the corner. Bolzano is only a short 20 minute drive, which is well worth a day-visit. This region in Italy is not quite as popular as other regions in Italy. After visiting this region we can not really understand why. Cute little villages built up against the hills that grow in to the Dolomites. Probably (one of) the most gorgeous mountains in the world. We would definitely recommend this place!
