Masseria Montecchie

We stayed for 8 nights last September (2023) and we received really helpful communication with the property prior to arrival. This is a lovely authentic masseria set within olive groves and gardens with a lovely, very clean pool. It is close to Ceglie Messapica, known for its great variety of restaurants and lovely atmosphere. Our room was elegantly yet simply furnished with a lovely high ceiling and full height doors opening onto a small balcony with garden views, enjoying the morning sun. The property is very clean and each morning our room was cleaned before we returned from breakfast. Breakfast is served in a beautiful domed ceilinged room and is good with attentive service, plenty of variety with some items being home made or home grown such as the fresh figs and delicious marmalade made by our charming and attentive hostess, Signora Pia, who chatted to us every day. She owns the masseria with her husband and is always eager to make sure that her guests are happy. We looked forward to seeing her and we felt privileged to be staying in her beautiful home. This is a great base to explore Puglia and because of the lovely pool, you can spend as much down time as you like and there is also plenty of shade provided by awnings. WiFi was really good in the rooms and also unexpectedly by the pool!
