Friary View Bed&Breakfast

Very comfortable bed, hot water and tea and coffee making.  Mary and Dermot were so welcoming.  We really felt at home.  Not having our own car we really appreciated Dermot giving us a lift from the station.  The house is set in a beautiful garden and we ate our dinner outside on the garden table one night.  It is quiet and peaceful at Friary View, perfect for a good night’s sleep.  Breakfast was delicious and we discovered Dermot is a retired chef.  The pancakes are not to be missed!   It is about a 10 minute walk down to the end of the road and then a few minutes into town.  So close to everything you could want.  The stroll along the road to Friary View is lovely.    There is parking on site and the WiFi was good.  We would absolutely recommend a stay with Mary and Dermot.  Thank you so much to both of you for making our stay in Killarney memorable.

I think Tripadvisor is well overdue a review of Friary. We stayed for two nights recently and as my title suggested, I've not stayed in many B&Bs, but if they were all like this, then I'd certainly go to B&Bs a lot more.

Location wise, it's a little off one of the main roads through Killarney, but from the main road there is a sign pointing to the junction. After travelling up and through a narrow road, Friary is placed in a very quiet location apart from the odd noise of a train.

Mary greeted us at the door and within a short time after being introduced to the room, we had sat down to drinks and biscuits. Friary is certainly a family home and evidence is everywhere, if you prefer stale blank walls with corporate colours and imagery, then this B&B isn't for you, but it's easy to fall in love with how much family and the local area means to this couple.

Room 4, which was where we stayed was a great sized room and there was a view in amongst the clouds. The room had all the facilities we needed with free wifi, which my son made the most of.

Breakfast choice is minimal, but covers the main choices with fresh coffee and juice, cereals, etc. The traditional Irish I'd read about so much in the reviews I had seen was as good as it was read. Mary also had lots of ideas for places to visit during our time over breakfast.

I didn't expect towels to be changed after our first day there, but was a nice touch. 

We barely made a dent in the amount of places we could visit in Killarney and I'd actually feel an injustice if I went back to explore more of it and not stay at the Friary.

It's probably more of a B&B for couples than a family, but for us it was perfect.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the B&B recently and were very impressed.  Mary is a very friendly hostess and her breakfast was extremely plentiful.  The location of the B&B was very quiet, our room was large and the bed very comfortable.  It was about a 10 minute walk down the lane to Killarney for an evening meal.

We stayed at Friary View B&B for two nights in July. It's a short walk from the town centre in a nice and quiet neighbourhood. Communication with the owners before and during our staywas excellent. We had asked in advance whether we could drop our luggage off before the official check in time and were pleasantly surprised that we couldn't just drop off the luggage, but could enter our room straight away. 

We received a very warm welcome from the owners. Mary even provided us with tea and cookies after we'd settled in. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable. Everything you might need was in the room - including a fan, which came in handy as it was really warm in Ireland when we visited.  

The breakfast was amazing and more than sufficient (I tried the salmon omelette and the bacon and eggs). Easily the best breakfast we had during our entire holiday!

This B&B comes highly recommended as the owners really make you feel comfortable and at home.

Simply: the perfect B&B! It was the best accommodation during our Ireland-trip, we stayed there for 3 nights. Nice, clean room with everything you need (big and very clean room, good bathroom/shower, comfortable bed, TV, hairdryer... ). The guestkeeper was very nice and made us a great breakfast (the pancakes!!!). Felt a little bit like home. 

This is a clean, comfortable B&B.  The owners are 
helpful and friendly.  We had the best breakfast of any
place we stayed while on a two week vacation.  The
owners booked tours for us and drove us to and from 
the tour office.
