Wonderful! What lovely people and what a lovely inn. We had a cozy, comfortable room with one of the prettiest views we’ve seen in Ireland. Michael is an excellent travel guide— take his advice! We’re here on our honeymoon tour and they gave us a bottle of wine and a kind note of congratulations. We hope to be back one day (it was a bummer to leave them!) and hopefully we’re lucky enough to meet the adorable pup again. 

What a B&B absolutely amazing place to stay I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Killarney, the rooms and views from our room was beautiful overlooking the lake, and the breakfast was lovely sets you up for the day. Mike was so helpful he couldn’t do enough for us.

Absolutely fabulous home and the hostess was so lovely we will definitely be back. The views from our room was stunning and our room was so clean the shower was beautiful and so was the bed they go above and beyond for there guest the breakfast was massive and so lovely thanks so much Amelia.

I spent two nights at the B&B and I cannot possibly speak higher of it. The rooms are modern, spacious and offer such privacy. The house has the best view of the lakes in the ‘Kingdom’. It was such a lovely getaway. Amelia and Michael have such a knowledge of both Killarney and all of Kerry and offered great recommendations for day trips, like Inch Beach. I really loved my stay and can’t thank the hosts enough. I will 100% be back.

When we arrived at Aghadoe View B&B we immediately regretted having booked for only one night. We were lucky enough to be the only guests and were upgraded to a bigger bedroom with a breathtaking view on the lake. The bed was very comfortable. The house is in the outskirts of the city, in a quite place by the road, with a great view of the lake and nearby mountains. Very quiet at night. Not a lot of choices for dinner at walking distance, but this is not a problem, as you have to have a car to get there anyway. The hosts were extremely friendly and cooked us a delicious breakfast in the morning and provided great insights on things to visit. Pity we had to go. Killarney deserves a longer visit than what we could afford.

Stayed here with my mum for two nights, I thought it was lovely, beautiful views ideal location, you would need a car( keep that in mind) . Easy to get into town. B and b was lovely, rooms nice and clean. Warm welcoming reception, the host couple was so lovely and very helpful. Food very nice Full Irish, pancakes etc.. Oh and try her carrot cake 🍰. And very reasonably priced, I would recommend and stay again! 

A lovely B&B situated on a hill with fantastic view of Lough Leane and the mountains.  I recommend a trip through the Gap of Dunloe on a jaunting cart and a boat back across the lakes (try gapofdunloetours.com).

Common Areas: Excellent: Lovely seating area that has a big picture window with superb view of the lake - Fridge provided with honesty box for various drinks - Breakfast room a little cramped
Cleanliness: Very Good: Clean, except for vent in en-suite
Location: Very Good: Few km out of town so quite quiet - Couple of km to nearest place to eat
Views: Excellent: Superb view of the lakes and the mountains behind
Owners/Staff: Friendly - A little reserved - Checked if we needed any information

Explanatory note: My wife and I spent 15 nights in Ireland and Northern Ireland this summer.  We stayed in 8 different places (5 B&Bs, 1 Pub, 1 Apartment and 1 Hotel) - two nights in each, except for 1 B&B that was just for one night.  In reviewing each of these, I decided to rate them all using the same set of categories - Bed, Breakfast, Room, En-suite, Common Areas, Cleanliness, Location and View.  Within each category I have rated them as either Exceptional, Very Good, Good, OK or Poor, and then determined a Best and Runner Up (as noted above, if relevant).  I also made some comments (but not ratings) on the owners/staff as well as a brief starting summary (including any recommendation on what to do in the local area).

We stopped here for one night on our road trip around Ireland, and wish we had stayed longer! Amelia and Michael were delightful hosts, so kind and friendly. The house is beautiful and the view is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was delicious (we had an easy walk to the hotel next door for dinner the night before), and we had a great time exploring Killarney National Park. We will be back someday!

The location outside of Killarney was perfect and quiet. Despite the room was small, we had just outside the door a bay with big windows and comfortable seating. We considered it as our living room. The view through the bay window onto the lake scenerie was breathtaking. Our hosts Amelia and Michael were of utmost helpful- and friendliness. We really felt at home. Thanks a lot.
