The greeting by the Kennedy family is one to remember and treasure.
Skahard House is a home with a soul and joy.  Delightfully decorated and very comfortable.  You will forever remember your afternoon tea in the atrium.
Very near Limerick and Shannon and yet the feel of country and village life. The area has Paleontological treasures.  Pack your bags!

We decided to spend this year's summer vacation in Ireland and after some googling we came across this place. We only had a few reviews to go by, but it was really the webpage and the photos that made our decision.
There was no deposit or credit card upfront required, so we did not really quite know what to expect, but were we in for a life time experience in this this beautiful little gem.
Let us make it clear up front; there is absolutely, and we mean absolutely nothing, missing in this beautifully restored villa. It is impossible to list what this villa contains and the list of what it does not contain is pretty much a blank piece of paper. Every little detail has been taken care of in the kitchen, the living rooms as well as the bedrooms. There was even nice flowers and little chocolates  in the various rooms.
If you are looking for a place to rest, to be together as a family or with good friends, well you have found it.
The garden and lawn is beautiful and the jacuzzi, well, we certainly used it.
The villa is managed by 2 extremely nice and friendly people (Maria & John), who will happily show you around or give you guidance on what to see (btw. there is a complete stock of tourist brochures as well as DVDs and books for rainy days).
From when we arrived to we left they made us feel home and welcome in their home

The perfect complement to a busy stay in Dublin and long drives around peninsulas.  This lovingly restored and tended villa was an absolute delight.  Scenic pastures, convenient to town and so much more.  Owners are nearby and very helpful with local travel suggestions.  Our trip to Ireland would not have felt as complete without it.

It's been a year since we stayed here, but I've just been reminded about Skahard, and the amazing break we had there :) 
We stayed for one night during a bank holiday weekend last year, and we had a perfect stay in the house. We got a great welcome, with tea/coffee, biscuits etc. We had the (beautiful!) house to ourselves, as there were no other guests, and we were told to make full use of all the facilities - which was great. We paid extra to have the bigger room but both rooms are fabulous...we just relaxed and enjoyed the luxury! The breakfast the next morning was AMAZING!!! And the hosts were so friendly, can't say enough good things about this place.
It is in the middle of nowhere, but there are lovely walks around and it's near enough to Limerick city that you could get a taxi home at night if you wanted to have a few drinks in town.

Had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay at Skahard House in Caherconlish.  Beautiful accommodation and hospitality.   The house is very charming and treated like royality by the owners.  A real hidden gem!
