Swallow Guesthouse

We were so happy to have found the Swallow House for our 6 day stay in Ubud, as it was the perfect location to experience the real Bali. We stayed in the Sunset Villa, which had 2 bedrooms, a large bathroom and two wonderful patios overlooking the mesmerizing rice terraces. The beds were comfortable and we quickly became accustomed to the sounds of the nearby village consisting of roosters crowing, frogs croaking and the occasional motor bike on the path outside the villas. While the accommodations were great, the hospitality of Wayan, Putri and Uly were truly the highlight of our stay. We had two healthy/yummy dinners and two equally great breakfasts, both delivered right to our patio. We also had the pleasure of attending a local ceremony with Wayan, which was the best way to understand the local customs and experience the real living of the village. Suzan was great about giving guidance before we arrived, which we greatly appreciated! The Guest House is about 20 mins from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, so close enough to go in for shopping and restaurants, but far enough away that you welcome the peacefulness when you arrive back to the guest house.
