200 reviewsWe stayed at Lumbalumba Resort for three nights at quite short notice. After a few intensive days of travel, we were looking for somewhere to relax, and Lumbalumba Resort provided just that. We only wished we had stayed longer! After a long journey from Kalimantan, we arrived at Manado Airport late on Saturday night, where we were warmly greeted by Kres, a staff member who has been with the resort for over 25 years. We were glad to be able to relax in his care as he drove us through the city to the lodge and our comfortable chalet. During our short stay, we enjoyed the beautiful gardens, pool and restaurant, which all overlook the ocean. We also took the one-day Minahasa Highland Tour in Kres’ company once again. While it was fascinating to gain insight into the local attractions, what we enjoyed most was spending time with Kres and learning about the local area and its people. It was a pleasure to meet the owners, Juud and Roel, and to hear their story. Their resort is truly a testament to a lifetime of dedication, hard work, and love. It was one of our favourite places to stay during our four-month journey through Indonesia and we wholeheartedly recommend it.
