GIRLS WATCH OUT. We've got the information that the owner and the employees are trying to hit on girls, text you "habibi come to papa" and try to find excuses to get into your room. And even watch you through the windows! No privacy at all and super cringe.

It's not a safe place for girls, especially when you travel by yourself.

Not safe for Solo travelers!!!

Definitely don't go here if you are a female solo traveler. There was a lot of harassment from the manager. He tried to get to my room. He secretly poured vodka into my drink and was touching me. They were making fun of me, there was a lot happening. I could not even go to the pool, because there was about 9 men, and they were catcalling me. And i was not the first one it happened to.. I had to leave early, because i was scared.

Do not go there!!

Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay as the COVID-19 outbreak stopped us from reaching Gili T on our travels. However we thought Bale Datu Bungalows deserves a 5* review for their amazing response to our situation. Despite our booking.com policy being a non-refundable no cancellation allowed arrangement, Bale Datu did not hesitate to refund us the full amount we had prepaid in advance as soon as we let them know we couldn’t make it. This made such a big difference to the stress we were experiencing trying to get home, knowing that there were people supporting us from all over! Thank you Bale Datu

Incredibly understanding management staff

First time stay in Bale Datu, the place a little bit inside of the island arround 20-25 min if u walk from the harbour.. the place is nice , clean , complete with air con and wifii.. But the best one is  the local employee very friendly and nice to both local and international tourist.. Breakfast was good.. after all best value for money

Best value for stay in Gili

A cozy and ideal bungalow for families! Booked 3 rooms for 4D3N. 15-20mins walk to/from Harbour. Ideal for those who would love some privacy or away from the hustle of the crowd. Room was clean, toilet was spacious, mattress & (4) pillows was also clean & soft. Pool was great and ambiance was perfect! Plenty of warungs nearby so don’t worry about dieting. Do visit the night market near the harbour-you will find a variety of seafood & delicacies too! 

Don’t forget to rent your bikes (40k onwards) from the shops nearby during your stay to explore the island & watch the sunset too! Walking is possible if you’re not rushing for time but with elderlies, riding is better :) a slightly bumpy ride on the island but it was worth it!!

Apart from the bungalow, BE PREPARED to be SERVED by 3 EXCELLENT staff. Budi (a humble excellent chef), Yudi (a cool hardworking engineer) & Ecko (exceptional customer relation manager & a great fishing expert).They would be around during most of your stay to make you feel very welcome & your stay an unforgettable one. They are always there to attend to your needs promptly without hesitation. Help us cooked the fish we caught on the island - and it was YUMMY!

Trust us, their customer services provided was way beyond our expectations - warm&sincere. 

Me & my partner are a frequent Gili Trawangan visitors but it was the first visit for my parents, sister and her fiancé...
And the verdict - They loved their stay on the island!

Awesome family getaway

I stayed here for a month with my sister, and it was lovely the location is great as it's in the middle not too far from the main street and also close to sunset. 
The staff are always wonderful and happy to help. The beds are amazing comfortable to sleep in.
Definitely will be staying here next time!

Great staff and great location

The Staff was super nice, breakfast was decent for a start, the room was clean and has a small fridge which is definitely a plus with such a hot weather and the place was quiet! Great massage place around the corner ;)

Lovely place! 

Bale Datu is a real gem, hidden inside the paradise island of Gili T. I loved waking up there to the bird humming and enjoying the quiet surrounding as well as having a super cool and healthy breakfast. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the busy part of Gili T, but still, have your comfort and relaxing surrounding. And they have the friendliest staff! I would like to thank Rizal and his team for the great experience 😊

Amazing place to relax and enjoy Gili T

i cannot fault this hotel, we loved it so much we extended our stay. far away enough from the main strip that you get a decent sleep but also only a 5/10 minute walk to the beach/ main area for restaurants and bars. the staff are some of the nicest hotel staff i have come across, always going above and beyond for the guests, one morning they brought a tray of coffee to our room which was a lovely touch, they also sorted out cheap laundry for us. beds are so comfy, rooms are clean and good air con. nice little pool to cool off in, water refill tank which was great. loved this hotel and everything about it would definitely return.

great little gem on gili t

Took my family back to Gili Trawangan on May this year and I can’t thanks enough to Rizal and his staffs that how well they look after us. They always try to make sure that we got everything that we need including gave tips about the things to do in the island and how to book it and stuffs. We enjoyed the swimming pool everyday after we went to the beach and just such a relaxing place to be. I also thing that bale datu is better on the real life than on the photo. The breakfast also very nice and generous portion. Nothing to say but glad that we stayed at Rumah datu. See you again soon Rizal and staffs. Xx
