Lumbung Gede Resort

We enjoyed our stay and here's a short review of it: Pros: - It's new, clean, comfortable, instagrammable. Cottages adopt Lombok's traditional house style, its shingle roof enable the room to be pretty cold although the weather is very hot outside. - It comes with air con and fresh water (some lodgings in the island provide only brackish water for non-cooking use). - There's a swimming pool, a perfect way to escape the heat. Sundecks and airbeds are available. The water stays warm at night, thanks to the heat in daytime. My son wants to swim here all the time. - The breakfast is decent, standard fare for the Gilis: choice of pancake/eggs & toast/jaffles, tea/coffee/orange juice, mixed cut fruit. - It's off the main street so less noisy than other hotels. - Friendly staff. - Competitive price, very affordable considering the facilities. Cons: - There's no signage for the hotel on the main street, so we had to ask people several times and almost lost. - It doesn't serve meals beside breakfast, so we must buy lunches, dinners, and snacks outside. - It rents bikes but the price is higher than other providers, Rp 50 K (less than US$ 4)/bike/day; so we ended up renting bikes elsewhere for only Rp 30 K/bike/day.
