OYO 287 Rumah Eyang

My husband and I stayed five nights at Atik and Coen's, Rumah Eyang Guesthouse and joined them on a Kaleidoscope Tour of Java through Borobudur temple and the surrounding area. They are wonderfully welcoming hosts as well as engaging and knowledgeable scholars of Javanese cultural history. The guesthouse is located on a quiet street, just off a lively street. We enjoyed walking to great eateries in the area serving both vegetarian and non-veg foods, local and international cuisines. There is a great chocolate shop just a quick stroll away :-) Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, a/c worked well, there was space to open our suitcases, a hanging rack for our towels, and warm water in our shower. The internet worked well, and they were able to alter the typical breakfast to work with my gluten-free dietary needs: egg, rice, salad, and fruit, along with drink. The home is art deco style and creatively adorned. The outdoor space carries on this theme with comfortable individual sitting areas placed through a garden-like area. We used Grab to transfer to and from the airport. We hope to have an opportunity to visit again and definitely recommend it.
