Ndalem Mbak Charly

The homestay was comfy and homely, with the guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and a garden located in one compound. The compound was endearing and gave me a feel of what a Javanese home would be like! We liaised with Mdm Charlotte throughout our trip, and she addressed all of our concerns with great care and attention. She helped to plan our itinerary and tailored it to our interests of adventure and sightseeing. My friends and I hiked up Mount Lawu and Mount Merbabu, abseiled Jomplang cave, cave-tubed Kalisuci cave and visited Borobudur temple in the short span of our five-day Yogyakarta trip. We had a blast throughout our time in Yogyakarta, and we definitely couldn't have done it without Mdm Charlotte's thoughtful planning/ arrangement (contacting and of booking drivers, mountain guides, cave-tubing guides etc). The other staff at the homestay were warm, friendly and attentive as well. They took great care of us and made sure we were comfortable throughout our time at the homestay. A very big thank you to Mdm Charlotte and rest of her crew at the homestay! During our time at the homestay, we also checked out the line-up of contemporary male clothing stores along Jalan Cenderawasih and the stretch of restaurants/ cafés along Jalan Mozes Gatotkaca. (If you have the chance, do have dinner at the Italian restaurant Nanamia Pizzeria, they have value-for-money and mouth-watering Italian cuisine and a cosy ambience to boot!)
