Great stay in Hotel Gyantse...good food...the staff was very helpful and polite. If I ever visit Gangtok again i will definitely stay here. The rates were also in budget. Location a bit above the main market but peaceful place..

This hotel is a good clean and standard hotel for family. Sonam and Sabnam are hard working owners. Good location for people who are going to Changu Lake and North Sikkim. I enjoyed the view. I love to go again

I sent my parents for surprising trip in Gangtok   to visit, I booked the trip through an travel agent at Quite reasonable price as unexpected at peak time, while I got all info. of experience from parents, I appreciated my agent for the arrangement, as my dad said the rooms were quite neat & clean, merely it is located at peaceful area of Gangtok, my parents are senior citizen ,but they enjoyed the stay at this budget hotel, Hotel is operated by a young Buddhist Guy who was really helpful. Mainly local sightseeing few spots are near by of hotels. All city taxis were avail & it was having a small parking facility.

we came here from Karnataka through our kundu Tour & Travels,we ware 40 people ,enjoyed homely food & nice stay ,the plus points is that few sightseeing points are just walking & very peaceful place to stay,lite on top of NUM NUM road or close to it,very helpful sonam & Kundu Ji our operator,actuality Hotel is new Budget property & with all deluxe & Semi deluxe room.....Over all very good

Good Standard hotel

We stayed in Hotel Gyntse at upper Chandmari Gangtok during our summer trip in May 27 -30.  Hotel newly built in at outskirt of Gangtok city. Rooms are small and good. We were at inner side of room which has seepage. Hotel has homely kitchen maintained by non professional chef. Tariff was including breakfast but that is not worth, Break fast is only two option either plain bread with butter or paratha depends on their choice. Hotel is far from main city. Getting taxi also an issue from market after 9 pm. Once we had dinner in city and with a great difficulty we got a cab to get drop there in Hotel. Online booking does not give these information which may mislead to traveler. Though it is a budget hotel but its far from main city which is not convenient.

Experience of Gangtok

We (family) stay in this hotel for three nights in May 2016 and had booked three rooms.
Despite a distance of about 3 or 4 km from city center, It is far away that you need to hire a taxi to commute (PS: they say shared taxis for 15 or 20 rs per head! careful, it never happens and we need to spend rs 200 every time way). The hotel (I am not sure if this word applies to this property if not 'lodge') is below average by all the important factors. Cleanliness: poor to below average; service (eg. changing towels etc: nil), ventilation and air circulation: poor (some of the rooms have bathrooms with ventilation open to in to room). breakfast is just nothing more than  aluparatha and tea. This hotel is surely not for families or to those who like to stay in a clean and decent location.
