this is the biggest property in Yuksom and lives up to its reputation. The hotel rooms are spacious ( we stayed in the family room on the top floor). The staff , especially Aman the bell boy, is very helpful. The food is awesome, and the hotel's location is right in the middle of the small market area. great place to stay if you are trekking and want a night of rest before and after your trek!

Very comfortable hotel to stay. The staff were very friendly and ready to help. Though less staff were present maybe because the season there was just beginning. We took the twin room and the room was spacious. We love to stay there again. 

Good and clean hotel. Had gone there for a official work. We stayed in B&B plan. The breakfast was nice. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The bedsheet were clean. Most important the bathrooms of the hotel was big. Felt like I was at home. 🙂

I have strained my ankle so I had to stay in yuksum residency for a long time. Ms. Sangey, the manager, is extremely kind and competent person who helped me many time. I am still grateful for her care.
My room was very specious and bright and the staff very kind and helpful.

My team and I stayed overnight at the Hotel Yuksom Residency in Yuksom west sikkim, we had a marvellous stay.
service was excellent. The room was much better than I expected. Close to public transportation. And I would have appreciated tea making facilities in room.
No hesitation in recommending this hotel for overnight or long stay.

Lovely place to stay!

Clean hotel 

Yuksom Residency is a nice property. It is a pleasant to see a hotel run by all-ladies team. But it quickly wears off after interacting with the lady at the Reception. She quotes a price that would shock a star-rated hotel in any metro city (but eventually charges much less) and serves overpriced snacks. She levies a GST (a newly introduced tax) without proper registration - who gets to keep that tax money, we wonder.

The breakfast (included in the room tariff) was inedible. We had to go out and spend extra money but the Hotel did not care.

Don't ever order food here (bad and overpriced) even if you do stay with them. There are several nice joints in the immediate vicinity. We found Gupta Restaurant (about 50 m away) to be truly exceptional in quality, value and service.

Nice... but overpriced and iffy

The Yuksom Residency is a good place to stay if you have a group. Rooms are fine with good views of the mountains if you are on the north side. Beds were a bit hard and most lights worked well, hot water, clean rooms. Staff were fine and helped when they could. Internet was patchy but given the location there was internet - no complaints. Still if I were to go again I would do a home stay. Another plus is in Yuksam hotels are owned and operated by locals from Yuksam not leased out so that is a big plus over other places in Sikkim where many hotels are run by outsiders.

We had booked on ibibo.com and had paid for 2 rooms for one night (May 27, 2018). When we got there, we were asked to cancel the booking, get a refund from  ibibo and pay the hotel in cash as the hotel had some payment issues with goibibo. We asked them to get us an email from goibibo saying they would process the refund, after which we could pay them cash. Long story short, they didn't do that, and after we had been traveling for an hour, called us to ask us to return to Yuksom and pay them cash!!!! They got the cops to stop us - it took and hour to explain and sort out the issue. Eventually we had to liaise with goibibo and get the refund and leave the cash at the cop station. Very rude, arrogant and disorganized staff! If they had a payment problem with goibibo, why are they still booking their property on that portal? Putting us in between their issue with goibibo was not only unprofessional but also caused us to lose the day's sight-seeing.
