Tej Abode

Stayed at Tej Abode/VY Lodging with our babies during Diwali 2015. It was an excellent choice for us and came on a recommendation. Rooms were adequately cleaned, as much or as little as you needed and based on your schedule. Gangaram and Dilip are the stars - Gangaram dealing mostly with our meals and the *slightly better* English speaking of the 2, and Dilip helping with other logistics, laundry when we needed it, among other things. These 2 men stay on premises the whole time, and reached the owner by phone if we needed something specific or if our English wasn't translating so well. They were very kind and we always felt safe. We had 2 very small children with us and they were good with them as well. Outside "security guard" was present, but we truly felt safe, it felt like a normal neighborhood in a good part of town. You can order food for lunch and dinner if you want, at cost - breakfast is included and we generally had bhurji and black tea. Short walk ~ 5 minutes to GK2 market for lots of good restaurants (we loved the Italian place on a rooftop, blanking on the name but we loved it!) and there was a good Churros and Chocolate place for a special dessert treat. Starbucks and ATMs of course for the "essentials", and rickshaws can be found here. A single woman, a family with children, anybody really, would do well at this place for a taste of Indian home life with many comforts.
