The staff was courteous and welcoming and did their very best to accommodate our requirements. The room was not as tidy and the linens were not up to the mark. AC worked fine. Overall it was a hassle free experience and as a couple we did not encounter any strange looks and uncomfortable questions from the very friendly staff. Thanks guys! :)

Good service!

So I'm a frequent visitor to pondi, love the place, I usually used to stay with these guys, but noticed the service quality dropping each time I visited. This time it was horrible. The room was smaller than I've ever slept in. It's smelly, blankets were dirty, the over all picture of what I had seen first and what was now was pathetic. My wife n kid just weren't happy at all. So from an excellent reviewed place on my list, this hit Rock bottom, never again. Although the staff handling the show are sweet guys, but the workers, are collecting free salary n not maintaining the place one bit. 
No go for me. 

Lost its charm

This is a great small hotel near the serenity beach (2.5 km away) and Auroville (6-7 km away). We got this booking just a couple of weeks before we were to travel. And since this was quite conveniently located (we travelled by car), we decided to go ahead and book a room. 

We got ourselves a double room with an extra bed and it was quite a large spacious room kept clean and neat. You get a cupboard, a large platform and adequate space to keep your stuff. The room overall was very nice and hygienic. The grouse I have was the lack of hot water. The hotel folks got us a small bucket (really really small) of hot water when we asked for one in the morning. We later inquired and we were told that they had a malfunction with their large gas geyser and hence this makeshift arrangement. I suppose by this time they have that sorted out. I would still suggest you inquire about this before booking though I don't suppose you will need hot water in a Pondicherry summer. 

They also have a parking lot for those who have their car, though it ain't a fancy one. Its an empty site behind the hotel, but its convenient. They also have a parking lot outside for a bunch of scooters or motorcycles (which you can also rent from near by shops). 

The hotel provides a decent breakfast fare for INR 100 which includes idli and vada along with tea or coffee. Its expensive considering there are nicer places offering better fare for that kinda money if you are willing to get out in the morning. We went to the canteen inside Auroville for breakfast on day 1 and the next day we had breakfast in Pondicherry. Being a tourist town, there is no dearth of decent places to eat.

Good average hotel for those on a budget

We booked this hostel for 2 nights. 

The location is quite good, almost midway between the town and Auroville. 

The staff is kind but the services were terrible. The rooms were not clean. There are very less bike rent services available nearby and food services are difficult to find.

Thoroughly unprofessional and unfair to delay my refund. 
I might have called the main spoke person Shweta Bajaj about 10 times or even more, she would say that she will see to the matter and that's it. Sometimes you will be made to believe that the accounts people will contact you but the result will be nil. Need to say one last thing... Karma is a boomerang.
