OYO Rooms Railway Station Kumbakonam

Our family had visited kumbakonam during Mar-2017 and we booked Deluxe room for 1 night. Room was spacious , clean and staff members were friendly and helpful.

There was problem in nob to change Shower mode and tap mode. It was completely broken. Staff helped on this problem immediately on that night itself.

Front desk also good and helpful.

Overall it was pleasant stay and recommended for family. Most likely for elder people as they need not to walk for long distance to reach this hotel. Its just 100 meters opp from station.

Calm and perfect pick for family

3 years before i have gone to this Hotel and stayed.Based on that i thought it would be the same hotel but things were changed. Last Friday i have gone there along with family. Pros - Parking Facility, Center Place for Important Temples. Cons - Poor Water quality in Rest Rooms( Dust Particles comes out & water is yellow in colour,) Huge Mosquitoes and Morning Breakfast is very average.

Kumbakkonam Visit

As you come out of the Railway Station complex to the main road you see PLA Residency on the opposite side. It has a big parking space in the front, the lobby is also quite spacious and well decorated. The room was also good and quite big. The Hotel has a Restaurant & Bar attached to it. For us the presence of the Restaurant was a boon. We found many families who are not the boarders of the Hotel also come and have their lunch & dinner there. The Restaurant is neat and clean, the food is good and is reasonably priced.
The front desk people were very helpful and they arranged for a vehicle for our sightseeing. The driver was very good. The only problem with him was the language which is a problem in whole of Tamil Nadu and hence the beautiful temple towns have not been able to develop into a good Tourist Destination.

A BETTER ONE

that is the truth-- unbeatable location, bang opposite the railway station. else nothing much to write home about. its the usual kind of hotel, compact rooms, though with plasters peeling off the walls at places and even in the toilet, good air conditioning system, a non-working intercom. And , yes, above all the hotel is very fussy about the check in - check out times.  it is a different strokes for different folks policy. if you book on line through a few particular travel sites, its is a 24-hour check in, else it is a 12 to 12 regime. any early check in is charged. so guests pl check with the hotel before booking or checking in to avoid disappointments. the complimentary breakfast is sumptuous, staff polite, yet that touch of hospitality, a welcome feeling for the guests, somehow seems missing. and mind you for a small town the tariff is slightly on the higher side. its not fair to compare hotels but i have always felt and still do that sara regency in chennai road is THE hotel to be in in kumbakonam.

unbeatable location

Hotel is very basic, for 3 occupancy only mattress is given which can only be laid beside bathroom.  
1. House keeping doesn't answer calls.
2.Reception doesn't answer the calls either. Had to go downstairs for everything. Most  Staff attitude is like govt officials who don't give a damn. 
3. Most things mentioned in menus were unavailable. 
4. Breakfast was okay though.
5. Bathroom doors re filled with mould.. so are ceilings. 
6.Wifi was not available.

All in all  very avoidable place. For the price they charge No go place.

Not gr8 experience,  avoidable

Reception people speak very rude  . Room and towels are not clean. Dumped furniture.room arranged not inadvertently a good way. No breakfast free . Price is more for single non ac single room rs 1000. Food is good restaurant .staff are good.

Unfriendly reception

A dirty filthy hotel with full of mosquitos and flies both in the rooms and restaurant. Informed hotel staff for some mosquito repellent but did not get. No drinking glasses in room. Poor room service. No bath towels. Bad experience. Never stay with family.
