9 reviewsIf you're looking for peace perfect peace. Houseboat New Retreet is the place for you. Tarik is the Owner, and the perfect Host, he was amazing. We were immediately treated as a member of his family. Our room featured a red embroidered carpet which was quite exquisite. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we were provided with an electric blanket, plus additional blankets, this made our room really cozy. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, hmm, left us with a pleasantly satiated feeling until way beyond lunchtime. One thing to bear in mind; to access your desired houseboat, you need to travel by "shikara" (this is a smaller rowboat), just sit back on the luxurious cushions and enjoy the view/ride. Srinagar lies in the Kashmir Valley. It's a trip of a lifetime. And as our wonderful, educated and very entertaining taxi driver said; "Come as a Tourist. Leave as a Friend". That's beautiful Kashmir.
