We stayed for three nights -- February 23, 24, 25, 2020 at Allenby. It was one of our worst hotel stays. While there was everything in the room, it was depressing. The two single beds were uncomfortable and the toilet barely had place to move. As for amenities in the room, the locker did not work.
Other than that, the services were terrible. Despite saying a number of times that we wanted coffee to be served to us separately, it was only done after three or four tries.
Possibly the only thing good about the hotel is its location. That's what it is worth the effort to stay there for.

Absolutely run of the mill

We stayed there as a family of four in two rooms on the first floor.
The rooms are nice and big and clean.
The linen is clean although it is old.
The towels, however need immediate replacement.
They are old and discoloured.
The bathrooms are big and maintained well.
There seems to be a water problem as on two days the water was BLACK.
I had to remove about 8 or nine buckets of water before it became clear enough to bathe with. As a result the toilet  bowl is stained. It should be given a thorough scrub everyday by the housekeeping staff.
The breakfast is the bare minimum.
I would advise eating boiled eggs and toast. Everything else has a peculiar smell.
The inn is located very centrally.
There is the Forum Mall close by. Nice places to eat close by. Not very far from Park Street.



Needs Improvement

I stayed here 2 nights in February. The staff was very pleasant and the breakfast was delicious. There is a nice terrace where you can eat, a bit of an oasis. The rooms are fairly basic, and there were issues with sufficient amounts of hot water, but for the price it is not bad. 

Inexpensive option in a great location

What I received when checking-in is NOT what the property is advertising on Agoda. I came there at mid night. Firstly, the receptionist asked me to have a look at the room first. It was a smaller room on the base floor (underground !). Worst, it was smelly and fold. So I asked the hotel staff if I can change to a better room, even I was willing to pay them more. But they replied the hotel was fully-booked. HOW CAN I DO AT MIDNIGHT ? No choice. I had to pickup that room but still hoped that I can have better room for the next 2 nights. 
The worse thing is, the shower in the room didn't work. And the worst thing is, NO 3G INTERNET and Wifi signal was too weak when I closed the door. I need Internet to work with my phone and laptop. I mentioned this with the hotel booking on Agoda but noone cared about this.
The final decision is, on the morning, I walked around to check other hotels. The hotel staff even refused to help me book another hotel. They never smile. So rude and too odd. When I asked them a little help to call a trusted taxi for me, they also denied. What is happening ! I will pay for the taxi, NOT you. Why you always refused to help who paid for your services.

Terrible service and attitude

Very bad in service and maintainace of room, water tap in toilet contiuosly flowing. Tea ordered and coming after 2 hours after three follow ups.  Location of this hotel is very good. Behavior of Staff is not in helping nature. I will not recommend this hotel for my next visit.
