The Maplewood Resort

Maplewood  Resort  is perfect  place for families. I was on a family  trip to Gangtok in February. We had a wonderful  time at Maplewood  Resort.We had booked a family  suite which was cleqn large spacious  comfortable  and warm. The room had wooden ceiling the washroom  had a luxurious  bathtub. The food was tasty and fresh and they serviced food in our room  as the weather  was cold. We loved the momos and soup and  the local thali.My wife tried the full body massage at the Spa which she thought  was amazing. Our kids played around  in the garden with one pet dog they have.The Hotel staff were courteus and helpful.MG Market was around 15 minutes by car and our kids loved ther Zoo and Banjhari falls.Missing your hospitality. Will certainly  visit  again after the lock down  is lifted.

I would recommend Maplewood Resort to all as our stay, food and ambience exceeeded our expectations. The staff are modest and humble, ever smiling and ever ready to serve all your needs. The Owner herself was present at the resort to take care of the guests. The Spa service was excellent too. The car arrangements were made at reasonable price. We really enjoyed the New Year Celebration with cake wine and barbeque and the dancing with the staff and guests in the Resort. It was indeed an unforgettable stay for us. Thanks to each one of you ❤.

We stayed twice in Maplewood resort in while we six friends went for a trip in Sikkim. I find the resort very homely & cozy.the owner & stuffs were very friendly.the view of gangtok from the restaurant is the best part of resort. Complimentary breakfast & ordered foods in other time were good. The place is quiet & close to the monastery as this is outside the main city & at top of gangtok.however, easy to get a shared taxi to main point of the city's MG Park. Take 30 ruppee each in taxi. So have not face any problem to travel in the city from the resort.so my rating is 4.7 out 5

Stayed in this hotel two times, the deluxe room is not so good but superior room is good ones. Its bit far from hustle & bustle of crowded market areas. Few tourist points as Tashiview point, banjakri falls is near from this hotel Food is delicious and service is excellent. Parking ok. Thank you.

Maple Wood Resort is a nice enough hotel in Gangtok. Quite a distance from the main area of town though and not much close by. 
The hotel is cheerful and bright....but also very cold in Winter! Extra blankets and a small fan heater are available on request. Staff are so friendly and helpful. they made us a bonfire one night when the power was off. Staff spoke excellent English too.
Food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced....but slow to prepare as it's all done from scratch. Order early then come back later to eat. 
Hot water worked well (when power was on) but bathroom not designed well- everything gets wet when you shower. It's a good basic hotel.
On our 2nd night we had some noisy Indians who woke us at 6am with loud music and shouting.... the staff jumped on this quickly. Hotel was Ok for a couple of nights as a base to explore the area (if you have a car...too far to walk).
Some of our group had a massage which they said was good but in a cold room!

For a room that is quite far from the city centre, food at the hotel is not of good quality. The bed and sheets had stains and were not very clean. This is compensated by the courteousness and professionalism of the staff. The Family Suite is a real luxury in terms of space - with a road facing balcony! The bathtub was clean, but not spotless. The geyser works well. We were in constant touch with the hotel owner Anusha even before we booked the hotel. She is prompt and gives appropriate response providing you with confidence. The hotel referred us to a driver(P.B. Lohar), whom we used for the entire trip of 4 days. He is an excellent driver and pleasing in spirit. He assured us always that we were in safe hands. But you need to insist on shopping sites to him. Otherwise he took us to all the beauty that Sikkim offers you and within our itinerary. The sound of the waterfall near the hotel sings a sweet lullaby throughout.

Hotel is average and bathrooms are okay. Can get better.
Food is not so great. They served us parathas and bread which was not good
But front office staff are helpful. They kept our luggage for a day as we had to go to Lachung with minimum luggage.

Biggest disadvantage is that its far from city. MG marg and other places are quite far.

Average Budget friendly Hotel, average breakfast with very limited options, nice view from restaurant. Food is exceptionally good and courteous restaurant staffs, owner is also very helpful and nice person. For 4 to 5 members of families one nice family room is there.

Average hotel. Furniture are not upto the levels. No room heaters, but they provide it on chargeable basis (Rs. 400, but can bargain). But still those room heaters are cheapest one, not useful. Service staffs in restaurant are very nice. But food taste, nothing to say - not good.

Really bad...staff are friendly but not well groomed and look dirty. Paid a good package but service is really bad...though hotel is almost empty at this time of the year...everyone is still sleeping by the time you get down for breakfast...room is average and not cleaned properly...stained bedsheets and quilt...foreigners be careful as you will have to apply for permit to go a few places and the cost is on you...a guide who is not with you but still has to pay for him...really disappointed
