Having traveled the world quite a bit, Ravens Nest was an experience of its own. This was our first time in Ooty, and the team at Ravens Nest made it more than memorable. I truly cannot thank Kennedy enough for how accommodating and thoughtful he was not just during the stay but even after we left the place. He was more than happy to help us with our stay at a different place in Coonoor after things did not go as planned. The team have given us amazing memories. 
From the beautiful house, to well decorated interiors, an in-house library, a good collection of paintings, each corner was just close to heaven. The tea estate, views and weather just added up to the overall experience. The home cooked food was also extremely good. They truly did give us the experience of the Nilgiris. The attention to detail that the team paid is impeccable and extremely impressive. 
All in all, truly amazing experience. We are sure to visit again.

Raven’s Nest – Kotagiri

325 Kms from Bangalore - 7.5 hour drive – via Mysore, Bandipur, Mudumalai, Gudalur, Doddabetta. 

Spent 5 nights in this lovely property in May 2024 – The beautiful home is situated in the middle of a 12 acre property overlooking a Tea Estate. The three bedroom home offered to the guests is part of actually a 6 bedroom bungalow - which Mrs and Mr Srinivas have tastefully designed  and developed. 

A haven in the hills - For one to unwind and truly off the grid (the mobile connectivity is very limited and you get signal only in a few corners on the lawns.) Of course, for those who would want to stay connected, they have very good WIFI which is good for your work /video meetings!

The property is now part of Ama Stay’s and Trails who are doing a lovely job of discovering such eclectic properties and extending the Tajness!  The wonderful team - Kennedy and his team of Anish, Ilangovan, the cheerful Mekhala make you extremely comfortable and drum up such homely yet absolutely tasty preparations every single meal! We had hearty vegetarian south Indian preparations especially the Vettral Kuzhambu, Paruppu Urundai Kuzhambu, Malabar Parotta with lovely Veg Kurma/curry, varieties of Rasam (including one made with keerai (greens)!).  North Indian delights like Chole Bhature, Paneer gravy, absolutely fluffy phulkas were also savoured.  All our meals were delightful. They also prepared us a lovely breakfast hamper of Podi Idlis and  Chutney for our train ride/day trip!

We will fondly remember the tasty Homemade Pizza prepared in their own wood fired oven – on a rainy the rainy/cool night. The breakfasts had different spreads (and you can always ask for Parathas/Poha/Upmas as well!). The freshly squeezed juice was always nice . Thankfully there is so much space in the property to walk around – the lawns and around the house, to help digest the food and get your steps in!

We were able to work with Kennedy who helped organize day trips for Ooty and Coonoor sightseeing through the Travel desk. We had extremely wonderful and experienced drivers – Shanmugam and Henry, who took great care of taking us around, even while driving with my aged parents and parking as close as possible to the attractions to minimize walking for them and more importantly we did not have to worry about parking challenges in peak tourist season.  Kennedy also took time out to take us to the wonderful Kodanaadu view point, which is about 20 mins drive from the property.

The property itself is very good – the three bedrooms have big spacious and comfortable beds, showers with hot water (solar).  All room have TVs with cable – we were in the cricket season so it definitely helped in the evenings . The courtyard outside was wonderful for our family cards sessions! We also walked through the wonderful tea gardens, which makes for pretty pictures in various shades of green on misty cool mornings. We were fortunate to have wonderful “hill station” weather (just off the heat wave that the entire south India was experiencing), so generally sunny mornings and rainy afternoons and cool evenings – perfect! 
For those who would want to indulge in physical activity, there is a mini gym room and yoga mats. There are plenty of board games/play things to keep yourself engaged. The wonderful library has plenty of books and comics (my son and I loved the Amar Chitra Katha collection) for your quite reading 

We should also commend Mr. Joseph and his team of 5 who manage the gardens around the property. Well maintained lawns and beautiful flora and aromatics which give an opportunity for so many birds to make their home around and you are always listening to their sounds (definitely a peacock or two around, which we could not see, but is known to visit the property!) He, along with Kennedy were also able to hook me up to an electrical point, so I could charge my electric car – and am sure for the future, they will have an electric charger onboard soon!

A family trip to the Nilgiris had been in plan for about 4 years now and I am delighted that we were finally able to make it this year – enjoying some travel, some rest and relaxation, wonderful and delicately prepared clean food and charming and polite hospitality of Kennedy and team. When we booked our three day retreat at Raven's Nest, we did not know what to expect, other than that it was reputed by so many of our friends to be a special retreat.
Upon arrival, we were taken by the sheer beauty of the place. The rooms were well appointed and very large. The food was delectable. The gardens are well maintained and so much more beautiful than the Ooty botanical gardens. Our hosts,Dr and Mrs Srinivas were very solicitous and made sure that our every wish was accommodated.
The decor and fittings are testament to the fine aesthetic taste of Vidya Srinivas, who seems to have spared no expense to make the place look a cut above all other resorts. 
We awoke each morning to birds chirping and the sun breaking through the magnificent mist of the Blue Mountains (Nilgiris). Day excursions to Ooty, Wellington and  Coonoor are easily arranged. The building sits atop a tea estate and there is a vegetable garden from which we enjoyed fresh lettuce and other vegetables in lovely salads. For the South Indian palate, soft idlis, well fried vadas and wafer thin dosas went well with fresh coconut chutney and sambar.
The staff is highly efficient and courteous. 
We left with our hearts full of warmth and our bodies feeling relaxed. We will return again as soon as we can.

It felt like a home. The careful, caring presence of the owner Bidya at every meal made us feel like a guest in the true sense! It was. Ahoy being here. Certainly will encourage 
travellers of fine taste to explore this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Raven’s Nest, a lovely home stay tucked away in Kotagiri in the lush, green Nilgiris.  Dr Srinivas and his charming wife, Vidya, together with their staff, ensured that we, together with our friends, were well taken care of. The local flavours, coupled with the beautifully landscaped gardens on the property certainly satiated the senses! An added bonus was the “guest” appearance of a couple of friendly deer, and a variety of birds. Our visit to the Srinivas family’s other property, Rayne Forest, a short distance away, was another example of a home built with a lot of love and care.  Certainly great getaways from the hustle and bustle of city life…

Ravens nest is a hidden gem in the Nilgiris. I found it on a random search in the internet and it felt safe to book a small homestay in these pandemic times. I only expected a small basic 3 bedroom homestay appropriate for a weekend getaway, but it was mind blowing to see how beautiful the huge property, the excellent hospitality and the entire experience was. The landscaping bursting with every imaginable colour of flowers, the extremely classy and tastefully done decor and interiors, the attentive and cheerful staff, and the delicious food. You are in for a double treat if the owners happen to be at the property too to regale you with their delightful conversations. I have never seen such attention to detail in any luxury resort or owner run homestay, small touches like the electric heated pad, heater in the bathroom, the wood fired pizza dinner at the gazebo, the suspended deck amidst the trees made for such a memorable vacay with the family. Really look forward to visiting again soon.

We had read amazing reviews and seen beautiful pictures of Raven’s Nest before deciding to go, however the place was much more than our expectations. The pictures do not do justice to the charm,beauty and elegance of the place! 
It is surrounded by tea gardens, very well curated lawns, flowers and sitting areas against the backdrop of the Nilgiri Hills. 
The rooms are charmingly done with every amenity and more. Hot and cold running water, hairdryer, personal amenities in the bathroom and tea maker, desk to work at, warm water bottles , heater in the rooms….. you name it , it’s there.
The staff including Charles, Chandran and Sudha were ever willing to serve with warmth and a smile. This made us very comfortable. 
The food was prepared lovingly and catered to each ones needs. Kudos to Sudha for trying to remember everyone’s requirements. 
Dr Srinivas and Vidya were charming, fun and it is thanks to them that we have decided that this will be our place to go to whenever we need a break from Mumbai.

My wife and I, along with our kid, and accompanied with my cousin's family travelled to Kotagiri and stayed at  Raven's nest for three nights and four days.... To  begin with we reached raven's nest on jan 28th evening...the expression was jaw dropping..so serene and exotic...so well maintained and clean in all aspects... We were the last from our family to visit Raven's nest....Heard a lot about the property since two years....due to the pandemic we couldnt travel... We  ordered onion pakodas and tea and requested them to  serve us soon after we reach the property...the weather was getting cold more precisely shivering cold and they played a perfect host to serve us with spicy and tangy pakodas and wonderful tea... That's how  we started our stay in Raven's Nest.... 
The staff are very friendly and took care of all the needs...Food of our choice was cooked and  was very tasty...Breakfast  is complimentary and stomach filling... 
out of all the homestay's we had been, raven's nest is the best...We can request for a camp fire and it will be arranged... Kids will surely enjoy the place...
To mention about the property owners,  Mrs.Vidya and Dr Srini ,  are a very warm couple ....They gave us  inputs on the sight seeing and about dining at Ooty and Coonoor...We spoke about a lot of stuff....I would thank them for their time..
Guys if you are looking for a week end stay or relax from your daily busy schedule...You can surely choose Raven's Nest...The best place to relax....Cheers ...

Its a beautiful NEST...

We both alongwith my brother in law and his wife stayed for just 2 nights 3 days from 28/10 to 30/10/2019 at Raven's Nest. 

In fact, my brother in law and his wife who were recommended by us to stay in this resort to celebrate their wedding anniversary during the last week of the peak season month of May, this year were so impressed to see the serene greenery with all the colourful flower plants in full bloom around the thoughtfully built resort premises building and also the tastier vegetarian foods served by the efficient chef Paul and his wife. They were also overwhelmed with the courtesy enquiries of their stay experiences made by the resort owner couple Mumbai based Mrs Vidya and Dr V Srinivas every now and then during their entire 3 nights and 4 days stay. 

That beautiful and memorable experience had by them forced for planning yet another trip alongwith us as a gift for both of us and incidentally to celebrate my brother in law Birthday on 29/10/2019 too here in this resort. The same best hospitality experiences we both also had during our stay but added with yet another staff serving us at all moments in whatever way we needed - whose name was Chandran(& his wife too).

We are also thankful to one Mr Suresh, who is our family friend from The Nilgiris (Coonoor) who only helped us in booking this resort on both the occasions and also in arranging the Anniversary and Birthday cakes for us and took all the initiatives to ensure our expectations being fully attended in every respect during the stay. 

The rooms though neither not small or big, were self contained in many respects with all the amenities carefully thought and provided. Especially, the variety of toiletries provided as also the ortho heat pads kept for use of the guests(if required to overcome strainful body/muscle pains- may be Dr Srinivas good thought implementation) and also the hot air providing fans kept in the bathrooms too ! The small collection of books on variety topics kept in the big common living cum dining hall adds up to these special amenities.

To sum of all, if a family or families plan just to relax and enjoy a home away from home stay - taking just a week end trip to the Nilgiris, this Raven's Nest, Kotagiri scores as one of the best choice without any doubt.

A serene and dreamy stay !

As busy doctors we were looking for a quiet extended weekend where we could curl up with a book and without a care. The 'hardware' and 'software" at this charming and exclusive, three room homestay are all 10/10. The serenity, the views, the room decor, the furniture, the tea plantations with its resident deer,the manicured garden patches with their wrought iron furniture -all cleverly curated by the owners Vidya and Shri. Paul and his wife cook delectable dosas while Chandran is on call for all your needs.Just 90 km from Coimbatore airport,find a way to beat the traffic snarl at Mettupalayam and get to Heaven 45 mins earlier !
