we stayed here in April 2022 and so much loved this place that we had to extend our stay at GMVN. lovely cottages and awesome location. you can watch sunrise right from the lawns in front. 

there is not much to sight see in Lansdowne, however, you'll get to enjoy nature at its best. take walk in the morning and you'll feel rejuvenated with birds chirping all around. on your way you'll find bungalows with some history associated with them. the walk to the market through the Army School has magnificent views.

Excellent location, great view, Food reasonable price, and good job by Uttarakhand govt.  
Why pay so much to private hotels when you have govt cottages available at the best location and everything is reasonably priced? 
Enjoyed the morning sunrise.
A 500m walk to Santoshi maa temple is worth it.  On the way is the sunset point. Close your eyes and go to this hotel.

Accommodation for driver is free and food is reasonably priced.

We stayed here for 2 nights checked many hotels but this is the only place to stay after entering lansdowne.. all the hotels are 5km before entering lansdownse since its an army base so no resort or homestays are allowed..Since GMVN is a govt. Property so that's the only property in main lansdowne..and it has the best view of Shivalik ranges since the place is situated above Tip n top which is the main attraction of lansdowne.

Food is okay staff is very helpful they charge 500 for bonfire...overall an amazing place.

GMVN has this heritage property at Top of the hill in Lansdown, the nearest hill station to Delhi. It takes just 4 hrs from Delhi border to reach. Drive from Kotdwar onwards is scenic and a pleasure. once you reach Lansdown and Check in GMVN wooden swiss cottages its a wonderful experience. A minimum of 2 to 3 nights stay is recommended to enjoy the beauty of the forest, calmness, sounds of breeze, birds and trees.
One can visit this place round the year.

This GMVN hotel is located at a vintage location , very well maintained and is the top place to stay in Lansdowne. From here the view is magnificent and is located a bit away from the main market. Excellent Huts are there for staying and other facilities of Resort are also there.

While searching for the hotels in Lansdowne with amazing view I found Tip n top to be an amazing getaway but earlier I was a little sceptical about choosing the same. Yet I decided to go for it and thankfully I am more than just happy. I got awestruck by the view and how well maintained the hotel premise was. Well behaved staff and amazing host Mr. Nanda Purohit made us feel like home away from home. Food was amazing too and what amazed us was the unbelievable hotel property and how well furnished the room was. I highly recommend everyone planning to travel to Lansdowne to surely come here and have an amazing getaway in the woods.

If you are visiting Lansdowne for vacation, Wooden cottages and huts should be your first choice at Tip N Top resort. Situated at the perfect place, surrounded by awesome lush green hill views and amazing ambiance. Cottages are made completely of wood with special care for comfort. Service is also good. Amazing food at very reasonable prices. Staff is also very helpful.

In case of booking online, book three days in advance as they stop taking bookings later.

This is my first ever visit to Lansdowne and literally I am addicted to the mesmerizing view of this hill city! Though I am already a proud pahadi from Dehradun, yet this place has rejuvenated a more intense pahadi feeling inside me. This weekend cannot be planned so better than traveling to Lansdowne via Kotdwara. The restro is located at the top hill, probably the last stop of Lansdowne. You will witness an intense deep fog, clouds, chilled wind, naughty monkeys and a greener hills all around. The restro manager Mr Purohit has guided us well in selecting the best cottage to stay in. I highly recommended you to try Garhwali Food there- kaphli, kadhi, jhangore ki kheer & many more in the menu. The environment is so chilled that you will forget that its summers going on. Forget about ACs or refrigerated water! You will just crave for tea all the time! I highly recommend you to visit the Lansdowne and this restro Tip N Top especially if you want to spend your great vacation at a budget-friendly price inclusive of all amenities.

This is the only property at the highest elevation situated at Tip in Top (a view point for sunrise). You can watch the sunrise from your cottage with an amazing view of the Himalayan range if the sky is clear. At some 500m , there is a view point for sunset as well. All the facilities are available here with ample space to roam around. A truly beautiful and peaceful place to take a break from the monotonous city life. Great for all age groups.
The only problem in Lansdowne is of conveyance. Taxis charge as per their wish and almost unavailable post 7 pm on road. So it's better to get your own cab or do the booking in prior.

GMVN  in Tip and Top is in the best location in Lansdowne. Lansdowne is a military area of Garhwal regiment so the place is neat and clean compared to civilian area. GMVN delux cottage is clean but the bathroom needs attention of the authorities. I have noticed in most of the government or semi government organisations they lack professionalism and sd matter of that tourists suffer.

Fantastic location in the hill top

This Tip n Top tourist rest house of GMVN in Lansdowne is in the best location of Lansdowne. Complex is big with lot of flowers & kids play area.
Service is good but rooms should be better. Looks little old with damaged doors & windows & fans. 
Buffet breakfast is available. But items are very limited. Dinning hall should have more lights.
Staffs behavior are good.
Tourist should invariably take the test of Burhans juice supplied with breakfast. It is made from Rhododendron flowers, the State flower of Uttarakhand. Guest can purchase bottles from the canteen.
Drivers facilities are available. Daily Yoga session by the hotel staffs & guests are a new thing here.During clear weather Himalayan snow peaks are visible ftom this guest house. Total more than 20 different categories rooms are available. Can book online. Overall nice experience.
One question to the gmvn authority.
Check in time is 11am & Check out time is 2pm ! Why this long gap ? Customers are paying for 24 hours but getting service of 21 hours ! Whether it is approved by the tourism department of Government of India ?

Excellent located government tourist accommodation in Lansdowne 

We stayed  in tip n top resort in the  last week of December 2022.Location of this place is best in Lansdowne.staff was very courteous and prompt.I will advice to GMVN management for better house keeping of place.furniture need replacement.bathroom fittings are loose and leaking water.proper pots for Bonn fire advisable as they are burning the wood on open green space,which resulted in burn patches and spoiling the beauty of place. Over all good stay there due to location.

This is the 2nd time we are staying here, and it was a great stay both times.

The best part is location - at the top of the hill, right next to tip n tip point. Food is okay, but there are some good cafes nearby so it’s not a problem. The staff is courteous and helpful. Rooms are good considering the price.

Great Stay

If you are in Lansdowne, don't miss this place to stay. 
Being a government resort, i was big skeptical to select this place to stay as I was with my 2 small kids and hygiene was my biggest priority. But then I heard lot of good reviews about this place for which booking can only be done thru GMVNL website. Was long weekend,  Booked super deluxe room for my family (2 adults and 2 kids) and it was a good spacious cottage with small living room and bedroom. Very well maintained , clean and super cool raw feel. Bathroom was also clean, not super clean like 3 star but well cleaned. Basic frills were available in this cottage, like a small fridge, heater, tolietries etc. 
Best part about this resort was location, drive is fine to this place. Right at tip n top point, and couple of other places nearby. But lansdowne is not known to be a tourist spot, it's just a relaxing place near to delhi, don't expect lot of tourist spot. 
Services is good, we shouldnt expect a five or 3 star service as this is just a occasional hill station, bit overall, good staff. Mr Purohit who is also manager of this resort, make sure for each basic and important things. 
Food is ok, and I have heard reviews saying it's average, but , my kids liked it since it was  without any spices. But realistically, it was not that great and expensive too. 
In a nutshell, I stayed here for 2 nights and my basic requirement was to stay at one place to just recharge myself, sitting 
for hours in sunlight, reading and enjoy the landscape.  Highly recommended place if u r in Lansdowne.
