We stayed here on our 9-day driving tour of Iceland.  Our room was small, but very clean with comfortable beds.  Although there is no elevator, the staff happily carried our heavy suitcases to the room and also downstairs the next morning.  The manager was so helpful, even doing our laundry when we had been unable to locate a laundromat for the past several days of our trip.  The location is excellent, just a couple blocks from the harbor.  

This is a family run business and they do a great job. Our bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I was able to let Sara know ahead of time that we would be arriving late from the ferry and she was helpful and had our key waiting. All the lovely plants made it feel like we were staying at a friends house. Also, I still regret not buying one of the lovely sweaters for sale in the hallway, they're much more expensive the closer you get to Reykjavik.

We stayed one night at this lovely house in Breidafjørdur. Small village and this is just in the middle. Next door nostalgic bio, Norway house, lovely restaurants and the harbour. The manager is a lovely woman speeking very good English and understanding Norwegian. Room in basement with private bathroom is very good. Fresh and lovely home cooked breakfast. Free Wifi good upstairs - perfect connection else. Clean and good c-19 protective care. We recommend.

I had a very good stay in this hotel. We exchanged some emails to define my late arrival, the room was perfect, breakfast is better than in other comparable guesthouses, the owners are very kind and helpful.
It's the perfect location for the arrival of ferry, but Stykkisholmur itself is quite nice.
I don't understand why there are so many evaluations not totally positive, but the last ones are pretty good, so probably an overall improvement is going on.

Thanks Sara and Tim for your hospitality this summer when the ferry Baldur broke down in Flatey . I recommend staying in your cosy hotel , and thank you for your kindness. Best wishes to you .

Great hotel, good location and excellent staff that will do anything for you. Very good for couples on a vacations. We will definetly come back later. Everything was very clean and tidy and the breakfast is good.

I'm taking a 7 week self-drive tour of Iceland and Iceland Rovers booked Hotel Breidafjordur. I had a nice clean, well appointed room with a private bath. The hotel is in the center of town and only about 500 meters from the harbor. The owners, Sara & Tim, were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make my visit enjoyable.

We had booked a self-drive tour of the island and our company booked us in this hotel.

The hotel was decent and we had no issues. Our check-in was quick and the guy working was very helpful. Our room was downstairs, which had us worried at first, but turned out to be a pretty good room. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and we enjoyed the room. 

Breakfast was included and was a decent European type, so cold meats, breads, cereals and fruits. Not too bad and a decent selection.

Overall, this was a decent place for a nights stay when touring the area.

There's free parking with limited spots in front of the place, can become full at night time, so I ended up parking in front of another guesthouse nearby. The room was in the basement with a window halfway above ground with lots of sunlight, the room was clean and quiet, small, but it suited my needs as I only slept there at night and didn't spend too much time in the room otherwise. The bed was basic and comfortable enough. There's no elevator, so keep this in mind as you will have to haul your luggage either downstairs or upstairs (i'm uncertain but there may be some rooms on the main floor). The breakfast was typical- all cold, no hot items- hard boiled eggs, veggies, breads, cereals. The check in lady was very nice and kind. Overall, you need to reset your expectations- it's a budget place to stay/guesthouse, not a luxury hotel. The dorm-style room was clean, quiet, and the place was safe, additionally minutes from the ferry and can walk to restaurants nearby so location was wonderful.

Clean!

We stayed at this small hotel for a single night during our drive around the Iceland ring road.  Stykkisholmur and its harbor are quite scenic and everything in town seems to be within walking distance of the hotel.  Our room was spacious, clean and functional but quite basic and sparsely furnished.  The bathroom was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable.    The owner was very accommodating and, upon our arrival, offered us tea and coffee in an upstairs lounge with great views of the town.  Parking was available on the property and restaurants and the lighthouse are all nearby.  The breakfast was good and offered a decent selection of items.
This is an OK place to stay while visiting this town.
