Guesthouse Hrafnabjörg

We came to Vestmannaeyjar in the afternoon just to learn from the very helpful guesthouse owner (don't remember her name) that the ferry was cancelled the following two days due to an upcoming strike. The facilities were nice and clean and looked perfect for our family of four and the location was fine whether you were on foot or by car like us. The owner offered us a good rate for staying 3 nights rather than 1 due to the strike, but it wasn't compatible with our flights. Instead she spend time contacting the ferry and getting us in a queue to go back to the mainland and offered us a full refund for the non-refundable booking we made the day before (where we also bought the tickets for the return ferry that the ferry company already knew would be cancelled due to the planned strike -- but that's a whole other story).
