Nice house for a nice price and an excellent view . I recomend this one without any complaint . Good choice for 1 night and continue your trip around lovely Iceland .  If I go back i would stay there again

This was a great location - comfortable, convenient, clean and friendly hostess for a family of 7 including one toddler. We based here for three nights and it was our favorite Iceland lodging. The hostess even provided a play stroller and stuffed bear for our toddler. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived very late (around 1am) after the scheduled check-in times and the owner had left a note and clear directions to our apartment which was just up the stairs above the reception. The apartment we stayed in had 3 bedrooms and the open kitchen/living area was very spacious. The pictures on the walls give the place a nice homely feel. The view from the windows was breathtaking.

Overall this place has scored 5 stars. If I had to mention any points to fault these are very minor: the shower in the bathroom is slightly small-this was ok for me but I'm quite petite, for a larger person this may feel cramped; the room with the double bed is on the smaller side (other 2 twin rooms were OK size) but there is plenty of space in the rest of the apartment so this was not a problem.

The location is superb with wonderful views of the coast.  Kitchen facilities are great, rooms and showers all good, with a very nice lounge area and balcony. The owner is very hospitable. Couldn't ask for more.

Exceptional guesthouse

In all fairness, i cannot review the facilities of this apartment because I never saw the place in person, but I do want to note that I booked our stay on February 9, 2016 for our trip departing from the US on June 14.  I was excited about the stay.  

On May 31, I received a note from the apartment owner saying that the room had been overbooked and that we would be moved to another apartment. As it turns out, this was the apartment of a relative of the owner. Although the apartment we stayed in was fine, I had chosen the other place specifically for its waterfront location.  This was not an inexpensive stay for us, and i would have liked to have chosen my own lodging.  

While I, too, saw the many nice reviews for Artbjarg, I feel I must add this note to future travelers.  This switch caused me some stress before leaving on our trip. I had to contact Booking.com to get help to verify that we would have a place to stay when we arrived in town.  I did not feel good about this transaction.
