Casa San Bartolome

This B&B is located about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the central park in a quiet residential neighborhood. The area is very clean and felt safe. I asked the owner if it was safe to walk there at night and she said "before 9 PM." The one night I stayed out 'til nine, I took a taxi back from the central park and it cost just 25 quetzales without tip, about $3.35 US. The Casa is a classic colonial building with beautiful furnishings and art work. The bed was comfortable & warm, the water hot with good pressure, the wifi was good, and so was the included breakfast (3 options). The common area for relaxing/dining is full of plants and their huge Doberman, Capitan, is friendly and makes one feel secure there!
