Grenada Gold Apartments

Grenada Gold Apartments offer a unique experience for those looking for a simple tranquil hideaway or for the adventurous traveler looking to explore the Island of Grenada. Grenada Gold’s host, Lucille, arranged a driver at the airport for transportation to our apartment. We were tired from the days travels and didn’t have any food provisions so when we arrived it was great to have some bananas (picked from the tree on the property) waiting on the countertop. Should we have been thirsty, there was a couple beers and a juice box in the refrigerator, very nice gesture. Lucille was nice enough to give us a ride to a local restaurant just a few minutes’ drive, the experience at the restaurant was somewhat comical, they didn’t have most of what was on the menu; however, we did leave with something. The following day, Lucille was gracious enough to sit down with us and provide many suggestions related to exploring the island and places to find some local eats. A car rental is a must due to elevation and distance challenges from the property down to public transportation access. Grenada Gold Apartments is on the southwestern side of the island providing access to busy Grand Anse beach area via a 20 minute drive or Northbound on the Eastern side to St Andrews or St Patrick areas (1-2 hr drive) where you’ll pass through the 2nd most populated city of Grenville then onward to discover one of the oldest Rum Distillery’s or the grand history of Belmont Estate where they still produce chocolate from the islands cocoa trees……..Mmmmm. You can explore Carenage, the historic area of St George where you find many vendors selling local treasures or venture to the Fish Market to purchase the freshest Barracuda, Halibut or other local catches, thereafter traveling north to St John and St Mark. Several forts are worth the exploring as well. Early morning coffee or sipping a glass of wine in the evening are perfect on the outside wraparound balcony that overlooks a majestic view of the lush mountainside that fades into the rich fertile valley below: the clouds appear to caress the mountaintop and distant views of the Atlantic Ocean certainly complete the day.
