these apartment are basic but a lovely place to stay not too far from the beach and night life daggas the owner is such a nice guy and will give you good advice so you have a safe happy time and he knows everything there is to know there is about the island

Whoever honestly rates this place as 5 stars must have a peanut for a brain, or about as much taste as Prince Harry dressed up as an SS Guard, or most likely is from an urban northern English town.

Whilst my friends and I are happy-go-lucky, laid-back chaps and the rooms met our (very basic) needs (including two lots of 5 to one bedroom), the joint is run by an unstable chap. Having met him (Takis) late on the night of our arrival and checked-in, it became evident that he was drunk and that we best not get safes because he has a personal master key to them all. What he could do with a British passport I have no idea, but he might like your money.

A couple of days in to the trip, Takis's friend decided to drunkenly borrow a car, drive it over the lawn at the hotel into a tree, before driving off somewhere, at 8am. Drinks were very well priced at the bar, just it seemed a lottery as to what you would actually get. Having met some females staying at Kontonis, it became apparent that Takis was the full-blown strange cat, with an inappropriate streak.

The main positive is that the place has a large lawn and being English, my friends and I played a test match over three evenings. Takis had no idea what was going on, being Greek, but he occasionally thought it was brilliant and occasionally would lose his rag, shouting at us or other guests for no reason. I don't know if he didn't take kindly to costly misfields or poor umpiring decisions, or just if his prescription for bipolar disorder drugs had run out.

On balance - even if you're easy to please - don't take the chance on this place or the outright mentalist owner, as he may be sectioned or in some sort of institute (possibly even the Women's, as pervert-in-waiting) one day. Definitely PONY!

PONY! Although a Lovely Venue for Test Cricket in Greece

I came here with a few of my friends for a girly holiday. I didn't expect much but I what I got met with was awful. The rooms were filthy and infested with ants. There were ants in my dressing table drawer and all over my bed. We went self catering and there was only a kettle and a tiny hob. I was asleep on my bed one day when the owner, who is very loud and intimidating, came in to my room and woke me up by putting a bottle of lemonade between my legs! We had friends on the top floor and we were on the middle floor and we got told off for being in their rooms but I have no idea why? I have no idea how anybody can give this place a good review, it was bloody awful! I didn't expect much, just a bed to sleep in, but even that was full of ants!

Upon arrival we weren't greeted in any way. Our coach driver had to go wake up the hotel manager, Takis, who was asleep on the floor just outside the bar half drunk and clearly had taken drugs that morning. He stumbled out to greet half naked. He aggressively hugged me and my friends touching us inappropriately. He proceeded to slap us on the behind as we walked up the stairs. 

We decided to have a nap one day as it was hot outside. There was no air con so we left the balcony door open... To our surprise Takis had climbed over the next door wall and through our doors. He began shouting and pulled off our sheets which we found disturbing as he began to cackle frantically. He was severely intoxicated at this point and his delightful wife had to come into our room and man handle him to their home. He also constantly played 2pac at all hours of the day on repeat until dawn. 

On a different occasion Takis decided we had to get a lift with him to the white party.. He bundled six of us in his boot and told us we had no choice. He was drinking whilst he drove and almost crashed several times. We told him we didn't want a lift but he said he would take our keys and make us sleep outside with his under fed diseased dogs. He also offered us drugs several times on the ride to the party and said he would sell us to his creepy friends for the night if we refused. 

On one night my friend got very drunk and Takis decided to take her back to her room. When we walked to check on her Takis was stroking our friends face with one of our cameras in his hand. 

Overall we feel Takis should be detained by the authorities as he is unfit to run a hotel. Stay here at your own risk.

Disturbing...

Booked allocation on arrival & when I found out I was staying here I was so worried. This was due to reviews saying the owner was a bit violent & other things. As a lone female guest, I was scared & I just wanted to go home.
However, the owners were very nice & the room was ample for what I needed. There is no aircon but you can hire a fan for €3 per day. Also, no pool but you can use the one in the hotel opposite. There was a lovely clean fridge, cutlery,  crockery & kettle etc, all in excellent workkng order. The resident dog had her pups while I was there, which was lush. The family don't live there, so sometimes I felt a little vulnerable at night but Henrietta was so lovely & so was the lad in the gift shop.
The big thing to let this place down is the pushiness of the elderly man in the mini market owned by them. He follows you to try & make you buy everything.  The final straw was when he saw me returning with cigarettes for my friend back home (a brand he didn't sell)...he saw the siver box & sent the lad to my room with B & H silver saying I had asked for them. I said I hadn't & he called me into his shop, almost calling me a liar. I lost patience after this.
Apart from him,  please don't avoid staying here as it's excellent value for money.
