Guesthouse Filokalia

Our 2 day stay at the Guesthouse Filokalia made our visit to Portaria special. On arrival we were unexpectedly given a room upgrade at no extra charge. The room, which was one of nicest we have had while in Greece, was spacious, tastefully decorated and included a small sitting room with a functioning fireplace. We even had a small balcony with views over the Pelion. The generous double bed was very comfortable and while small, the ensuite bathroom was spotless and very functional. A generous breakfast that includes fresh juice, coffee, eggs, toast and pastries was served in the shaded garden and is included in the room rate. While it doesn’t have onsite car parking, a free parking area is conveniently located directly opposite the guesthouse and we had no difficulty in securing a space when were there. The real stars, however, are Katerina and Violeta who are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. Great value for money with the added bonus of getting to spend time with genuinely lovely people.
